massive layoffs

They are talking about massive layoffs in my department too. They said that tenure would work in our favor but from what I have heard from other people who were laid off, this means nothing, or even works against you. We're all just taking it day by day, wondering if we're going to get that call next.

Another Layoff at UnitedHealth Group - how many this time?

I'd been at UHC for just under 25 years. Then yesterday, "Your position has been eliminated. Good luck!!" I'd been proud of the progress I'd been allowed to make and even of my salary. I agree with a previous post, there is no rhyme or reason for the layoffs except for tenure and salary.

Pharmacists Layoffs at United HealthCare (2014)

It's sad, we are treated with so much disrespect by United - Pharmacists deserve better even in layoffs.

Obamacare and UnitedHealth 2014 Layoffs

Any connection? What do you think, is it going to be better or worse - Sometimes I think that all I want is to survive 2014 and that layoffs will be behind us and that Unitedhealth will be a great company again.

Optum Layoffs 2014

The culture of fear. Horrible place to work. I will be leaving soon.

Marketing

Optum used to be a great company. In the last year, it has been a terrible place to work. This once innovative company is filling with middle managers who are puppets with no creativity. There is a culture of fear and very low trust among employees. Get out while you can!

Layoffs have occurred

The layoffs are showed towards older, more experienced persons who are higher paid. From my own observations, none that I know were poor performers. Several departments have been increasing staff sizes in their Indian offices. A colleague was told to train a new hire in India before he was laid off. His only consolation is that the new hire in India is dumb as a stone where he has been reasonably successful. It looks to be an effort to offshore Higher paying US jobs.

OptumRx - Up to 50 Pharmacists

I heard that the number is much close to 50. This is a huge cut nonetheless, many good folks were let go.

29 RPhs laid off

OptumRx, a branch of united health, announced the lay-offs of 29 Pharmacist's yesterday including at least one who is currently on maternity leave. Ruthless.

UHC is money driven by stockholders. Profit is the only thing. Obamacare is a money loser for UHC. Firings are imminent.

Downsizing in age of turmoil

UnitedHealth Group is a well managed company, do not get me wrong, I am no trying to be sarcastic as we are dealing with a number of issues on the operational side. From the finance perspective UnitedHealth manages our money really well and I like all returns that I am used too. First of all I'd like to suggest a more easy process of getting rid of many people who are not able to perform on the level that's expected. I'd tie all bonuses to the company pefromance buonuses. In short any percentage over base salary would be awesome.

Medicare Advantage plan Downsizing

We cut thousands of MDs working on the Medicare Advantage plan - United HC is merciless, it's all about the bottom line and very little regard for patients and society as a whole. Sometimes I am ashamed I work here.

UHC layoffs - 2014

I heard rumors that we'll be letting people go in 2014 (Q1). We've done this before and this is nothing new to UHC. This helps with numbers, good numbers translate to management bonus increases, the fat cats are happy and the little guy at UnitedHealth is being crushed.

Go to thread UnitedHealthcare Cuts in Florida, Friday 10/18/13 17:13:02 UTC
UnitedHealthcare is causing a major turmoil in southwest Florida removing over three hundred doctors from its HMO network (AARP/Medicare) – there is a ton of sources for this news, check out FM News Press’ site for more details (it was on the main page but you can search the site as well). So, United is continuing to do what they did earlier in October when we dropped Moffitt Cancer Center. So, if you talk to the officials they’ll tell you that we were unable to avoid changes as as Medicare Advantage payments forced us to do what we did and that we have to be more disciplined when it comes to finances. At the same time, our commercial, Medicaid or AARP supplement customers will be unaffected.

to reiterate - no massive layoff is planned... yeah, right. with obama's sharks swimming around i would not be surprised if we were to shut down completely. nobody's happy...
