Sidney DC unimportant

Someone keeps posting how the work at the Sidney DC was vital to the success of the company. So if it was so vital why did they just shutter the ENTIRE operation and things are humming along?

Rush to cut staffing.

2015 2nd quarter earnings coming out 7/23/15 don't look good. Knee jerk reaction to appease stock holders. Management restructuring, FT hours once set at 40, reduced to 32. Hiring frozen. Some lead positions eliminated. New structure is almost... —  read more

Restructure started again.

Tommy Boy won't be happy until he buries Cabelas like he did Remington. Stocks are down about $30 from 15 months ago. The axes started wielding again at most stores. Best Buy, beware, your his new target.

Lazy Managers

Hate it when they short staff the place and the checkout lines are long. You get a manager paging for all register trained people to get up front Immediately, but they don't come down to help. What ever happened to the good old days when the managers... —  read more

There are several useless positions in the store. PTS (product training specialist) for starters. Really, what a waste of 40 hours. Price change team. 90% of any price changes and/or ads are done by the dept leads anyways. Then we have a space... —  read more

Sidney, Ne

Building a new corporate headquarters, and a big housing development and just laid off 70 employees today with rumors of more in the coming months. Doesn't make a bit of sense.

Shovel crap and sell credit cards'

We sell the same made in China crap that everyone else does, we just charge more for it and the customer to get our credit card. The only way I would invest in the stock is to option it short.

ATTN; SHOPLIFTERS

Cabela's corporate has made the decision to eliminate store detectives at what they call low risk stores. This means corporate is willing to accept the losses as long as it does not exceed the salaries of the store detectives they laid off.

REALLY??

So a couple of weeks ago sixty some people are laid off at corporate and now when you look at the website there are 16 jobs posted at the very location where people were walked out the door. Makes no sense to me.
