Not sure if this is good news to have Mick Hollison promoted to President due to him being the Chief of Marketing before and we all know how little marketing Cloudera does outside of Facebook. Hopefully, Bearden and Hollison can get Cloudera noticed... —  read more

Here we go. Everyone who is left is hearing the news we are in talks. Bearden cashed out now we just wait to hear who is going to buy us out and where our jobs will go to next

Will this be a good one? Continued growth or another round of layoffs?

I think we can find our place for growth if we can integrate well with k8s. Then we can maintain what we have and grow as our customers do. Not as glorious as we thought in 2017, but not as bad as we thought in 2019. Right?

After the last round would think we don't have another coming. Meanwhile all the sale talk has dissipated. Chug along I suppose.

I was one of the laid off. They did say it was company wide, but not how many. I was on a team of about 12 and afaik I was the only one on that team to be let go. However our team was directly profitable, so others might have been harder hit.

I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see strong enough arguments to convince me otherwise. Every day here looks worse and worse. Can you imagine what this company will look like in the near future?

Most senior management are waiting for pkg n spending time around doing nothing .. why pay hefty to them each month?

Every team in every location has been impacted by the layoffs over summer 2018, even engineering (but mostly Sales, HR, Marketing). Many left on by choice after that, too.
