I feel for the affected colleagues

I’m especially sorry for those for whom it’s a real blow. Once you are back on your feet, and I hope it will be very soon, you’ll be relieved that you left this company behind. It’s taken the wrong direction a while ago, and it will only get worse... — read more

Another layoff at Illumina today

Illumina is doing another reorg and layoff today. I was one of many. They are sending indirect jobs to India mainly. Desperate attempts to reduce costs.

WARN Notices???

Are there any reasons why we cannot see any WARN notices on the State's site?

Toxic work environment

Illumina is the place to be if you prefer: to always worry about getting laid off to see people get laid off while management increases the workload for people who don’t get laid off that management yells at you for not keeping up with the... — read more

Trying to fill my job

So just got a message on LinkedIn requesting interview questions to fill jobs in supply chain. Sure, I will provide this so you can interview ans then lay me off! So toxic!!

Marketing teams everywhere have been slashed

What that may mean for the rest of us? Cuts have had the major reorg scope. It must affect other operations as well. Or at least it may be pointing towards some major changes coming in the other areas. Probably none of them would be good for us... — read more

I won't shed a tear if this happens

I think folks that are undergoing a leadership change are at risk for a RIF. R&D is probably safe. There are way too many Directors here some with only 1 report. The org will be more flat going forward. In all honesty, there is some fat in this... — read more

Does anyone know how would this potentially affect our Illumina stock? Poll: Are you holding or selling your Illumina stock?

Transfer Departments?

Anyone transfer departments? Engineer looking to transfer to another engineering role. Is it worth going through the trouble at this company, generally speaking?

Severance packages

Does anyone know how long they are waiting to get their severance package? Getting close to my 30 days after signing the agreement.

No RSU’s this year then

Seems that the annual equity grant is skipping a cycle and no one will get any additional RSU grants this year. Clearly all happening in secret/stealth, not exactly demonstrating the values of “We are Open” and curiously timed after the iPulse has... — read more

Who decides who to laid off?

Why are we always losing some of our most experienced and knowledgeable employees to layoffs? Even if some of the managers at Illumina aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, I find it hard to believe they'd intentionally let go of their best... — read more

Arrays will be next?

Alex has ben saying this for months: Illumina should and probably will divest the array business. How likely do you think that actually is? At some point arrays will be gone, that is for sure, but I thought that would be years from now...

Why wasn't this on WARN?

Just looked at WARN notices in California and Illumina didn't have any for 2024. I thought they had to give 60 days notice before giving the employee notice?

Layoffs are definitely done for now

I was afraid there'd be more cuts today, but I think we can say with certainty now that it's over. At least for this round. We all know it's never fully over when it comes to cuts at Illumina.
