I’m convinced there will be more layoffs coming before the year’s end. Especially given that the consultancy is involved. Please share if you hear anything.

Any layoffs recently
There's been several people let go recently that I know of, any one knows of any layoffs?
Got laid off this morning
Unsure if it was due to being on leave or because actually massive layoff is in fact happening. Be warned.
Any rumors on pending reorgs/layoffs?
Any insight? Hearing talk of cost cutting, offshoring jobs to less expensive locations, etc.

It's over
At least for now.
Confirmed 175 people cut from Manulife today
Including all in-house graphic design roles. They've had budget cuts on projects for months. No appetite to hire temporary or freelance resources. People were told to just get the extra work done. Typical approach. Hopefully they were generous... — read more

Was there a new round of lay offs last week? What’s happening?
They're lucky more people are not leaving
Frankly, with things being the way they are and with guaranteed one or two major rounds of layoffs per year, along with the numerous smaller rounds, I'm shocked more people are not leaving. I think the leadership has no idea just how lucky they are... — read more
Not trustworthy
Don't associate with manulife...not as an employee not as a customer. After people dedicate their lives to working there, they kick you out the door with a few months pay and call it even. Disgusting.
It's been a year since I got laid off
It was really awful when I got laid off. Now, after a year, I think that's the best thing that could have happened to me. But honestly, I’d love to come back here just for one day to see if anything has changed for the better during that year? — read more

Layoffs have happened again.
Hey, Just wanted to update and say that a huge number of layoffs happened on the 27th of January. From what i heard it was mostly back office teams like the quality auditors and design teams.
Return to Office
Heard Manulife will be making an announcement next week (Feb 14/22) on when RTO will happen. Everyone is being treated the same and expected to adhere to the plan. Pretty rigid!
When will layoffs stop?
How many layoffs did we have in the last two years? Four rounds? Five? And that's just the more significant rounds that all of us have heard about, I'm not even counting the small cuts that happen all the time. When will it be enough? When there's... — read more

Many are looking forward to the quarterly results report. I have no high hopes. You?
Top talent is leaving
In addition to all the people they are letting go, it seems like a lot of top talent also leaving on their own. Saw that JH's CMO has moved on, along with many others. Knowing very few people there now. This is exactly what's been happening. People... — read more
How many people work at Manulife Financial?
Nobody knows when layoffs will happen, but the overall number of employees should be public info. Do you know how many people work at the company? How about the office at Toronto?

Layoff would be a blessing for me at this point
Most days it feels like being let go is a better option than staying at Manulife. Seems like a sinking ship! I can agree with this 100%. It's obvious that there's no future at Manulife and I'd rather be gone before the company hits rock bottom than... — read more

Did there really have to be so many layoffs?
