Motorola Layoffs 2018

Motorola Mobility (Lenovo) just tapped 50% of their Chicago workforce on the shoulder to let them know they are being laid off. Their expected last day of work is April 6, 2018. Sad... and to think this was my dream job getting out of college.

Which Moto sites are impacted?

They said there will be less layoffs in Chicago than last time, which is not much comforting, considering the last one was huge. Does anyone have more info? Number figures, which sites will be impacted the most?

More layoffs in Moto (2016)

Buckle up, it started again. Lenovo just announced it will be cutting off hundreds of jobs (up to 1100), and Motorola Mobility will be impacted the most. Some say that about 700 jobs in Moto will be cut, that's more than 50% of its current workforce.

Motorola closing

I work there but not for long. They laid off about 1000. Only about 500 left. They are in the process of closing most (soon all) of the labs. Motorola Mobility is done. They are just winding it down. There will be no support soon for the phones... — read more
