50% in office for hybrid employees....what a joke

If you wanted less work done in the office, more communicating/chit chat/wasting time. That's what you'll get. Add on the added costs for employees, pets who will now be unattended after spending 6 years with their owners at home...I'm sure that will go great for everyone!

Can't wait for this to backfire like every other decision leadership seems to make lately.

We're #2! We're #2! We're #2!

@aa because we didn’t have the option we dealt with it. But now that we have proven undeniably the work can be done from home they want to micromanage us in person now. Not like they don’t have spyware on our equipment

Absolute facts here. The one week in office 🐂 💩 is even crazy. I commute one hour to the office - one way. I spend 120 hours per year (a paycheck and a half) just driving. My kids have grown up with me at home. Farney and the big guys make all that money and they take those nice vacations but my raise doesn’t even cover the cost of living increase.

It is funny. People went into the office 4-5 days a week before covid. How did you handle it then?!

@a5 its going to affect a lot of people with less than 10 years tenure. That's the problem, the pension is peanuts for the tenure and the pay is also peanuts if you haven't been promoted much.
If they interview around and get a new offer its literally a 30-100% salary bump.

I know because I'm interviewing around and for me, being in the bottom range, it just makes sense to jump ship to another company that's in office and can pay 100% more. What does Statefarm offer me extra? Free coffee? No thanks, i can buy many with a new salary.

Im not sure its tone deaf though, if you were looking to get rid of as many american workers as possible, youd likely set things up like SF does. An irritated workforce has higher turnover. This will likely lead to a lot of people leaving, and less americans working here is a good thing. Now they can hire more in india if AI cant poorly replicate the work.

Outside of empty words, what even makes anyone think they like their workforce and want to make the happy in any way? Been 100% the opposite the decade plus ive been here.

Maybe we are the one tone deaf, expecting the company to do things to retain us, and keep us happy working.

Just a thought.

I don't think much will change and or it will take a long time for this transition. It won't affect me, can pull that retirement ripcord any day. Just waiting to see if there's a buyout that'll get me going sooner.

Yeah if they disrespect their employees time that will get them less employees. I pray its for bloomington only. Maybe its just a sign to move on, company seems to be stuck in a self destruction spiral the last 15 years and shows no sign of slowing down on the self destruction.

Oh right, and for all their efforts weve lost the #1 spot first time in like a century. Glad they paid the last CEO so well for his efforts.

They really just dont care about the people doing all the work at this company do they.....

This is not worth my time. I get paid bottom 20% in my range and they're taking the only benefit keeping me here. Literally any other company would pay me 50% more. Applying asap. Statefarm backstabbs employees.

The added childcare logistics… rising gas prices with more commuting… less flexibility… having to share space with people who have no boundaries or self-awareness. An actual nightmare and I’m already burnt out keeping up with life in this current stage.
