Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Any difference between working for TIAA and Nuveen?

Looking at applying for an internal role as a current TIAA employee, I see a few Nuveen roles. Curious if there’s any changes if being a Nuveen employee or if it’s virtually the same.

If you want to compare look at the CEOs

One is a competent person, driving success, merger and investment

And the other is a dummy

@e9 ha! Yeah no idea what the problem is with what I said. I've heard this same thing from someone who has worked on both sides. It's also a pretty obvious observation if someone pays attention... especially if they've been here awhile.

@am no direct experience, but indirect experience has shown it's like a completely different company in regards to things like policies, policy enforcement, budgets, etc.

No firsthand knowledge, but was recently at an offsite with people from both orgs, and a handful of folks that are with Nuveen that were once with TIAA. Most, if not all, stated it’s night and day. Grass seemed to be much greener

Yeah Nuveen is way better. The people are way happier and things are much more efficient. Also more competent people and less complaining.
