The TAS townhalls are increasingly disturbing. From an HR perspective, is being chastised by leadership "to get your sh-t together" OK to share on social media?
They laid off half the staff today with no severance. Notification was a joke! Some got a meeting invite while others got an email AFTER the meeting. Those let go are being paid for the rest of the week, but damn. They let go of some good people but... — read more
Is anyone still waiting for the backpay from the first check with Boundless Learning? My first check was based on my salary with Pearson and not the one contracted with Mega. I know through the weeks we kept receiving reassurance that it was "being... — read more
I’m here wondering if those that’s didn’t sign the offer letter did they get a severance package and got paid their PTO? If I remember correctly they said no sign offer letter means you resign? It irritates me knowing we lost our PTO, no severance... — read more
I know it's not easy to be laid off. It is a very stressful time for everyone. I know great people who were cut and who feel it's their own fault. No, it's not! Don't take layoffs personally and keep in mind that you certainly deserve better than... — read more
I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way. Why are there so many pointless meetings here?
Couldn't have said it better myself: https://philhillaa.com/onedtech/layoffs-without-severance/ No payout for unused PTO, no severance, no reasoning as to why certain people were cut and others stayed. They also screwed people still there by not... — read more
As a result of hearing of more layoffs in my business unit this week I'm waking up anxious again at 4am. Although I know I should leave, I'm finding it difficult to get a role that isn't in a destructive industry. If our blood-su-king leadership... — read more

Is Pearson ending their 401K / pension plan? Received a letter from Pearson Pension Plan Termination Center that seems to indicate this by end of year. Does this apply to all emplyees or only those who left but still maintain their 401K with Pearson? — read more
I’ve only been at Pearson a few months. All the layoffs scared me and had me searching for another position and I got a job offer. Should I take it? I didn’t get laid off this time so I feel bad because I’m obviously screwing my team over by leaving... — read more

The big news about 2 weeks ago was that (surprise) there'd be more layoffs through mid August. Anyone heard anything new?
That’s the call out from KB in an email to staff that went out this week. Same blah blah except that our new Regent owners want us to be working back in offices. Because….? So let me get this straight…we know we’re going to be working in an office... — read more
Go look at your future. Zulily, LLC was purchased by Regent. They have a layoff board here as well.
Given what's happened over the last two weeks, shocked about how quiet this site has become. People getting pinged with NDAs?
As of 6/15 Pearson no longer has a severance policy. Tenure means nothing. This opens up opportunities for inconsistencies and bias. I’m sure there’s going to be discovery and lawyers once someone feels they got less than their former coworkers. — read more
Layoffs throughout Recruitment Services today. It didn't matter if they improved performance, they cut staff after a massive hiring increase 4 months ago. Morale was sh-t and this adds more fuel to the fire.
So there is a hiring freeze. There are some shifting in responsibilities for devs and managers. There are no new projects (no work). Is this an indication of layoffs?
Now that the ecumenical TAS is running HE, will they be next for the chopping block? Especially now that there’s a hiring freeze in place? He’s made more cuts than Gillette.
Shhhhh. Yes, I think I do.
Striving to keep skills relevant is extremely important for all of us. However, am I mistaken or is it becoming increasingly difficult to do so here? I'm about to quit because I've been stagnant here for some time in every possible way.
I got laid off at the end of last year at Pearson and have found a new job at an excellent company a couple months ago. What do I mean by excellent? I got a lot more money for the same kind of work. I got new equipment. Everything my new employer... — read more

MC and Kim "I know better than anyone" Kim made me what to quit every day. With "leaders" like that, who needs enemies?
Anyone know what that’s about? Historically last minute is not good.
Pearson laid me off in late 2022, but I start a new job tomorrow after getting two offers about the same time. I'll get Pearson severance a while longer, but can drop the nearly $600 a month COBRA. Same kind of work, but different industry. Same... — read more

I decided not to wait for them to tell me that I am no longer needed and I left this place. I am pretty sure that I made a good decision. I'm interested in how generous was the severance pay for those who were laid off?
