VSP is over, when do the layoffs start?
The VSP program is over with less than 500 people taking it. The CEO stated that the target reduction was over 2800 employees. When and how will 2300 people lose their jobs? Do you think that another VSP round is on the way?
CEO announced a need to cut jobs. Says there will be more info in coming weeks. Talked of a voluntary separation. Heard rumors the goal is to cut 2,800 positions. We’ve stopped almost all hiring since last year.

Lay offs are happening
My fiancé was just hired on with 316 employees.. within a month… to date, all of them just got laid off…. Yeah whatever is going on… they will hire and lay people off
What would happen if PG&E customers had Solar panels put on top of their home to save money on their electric bills and in their pockets.
Laying off workers because of the Dixie Fire will save you money and help put back money for the past fires will show good faith.

With the Tubbs fire back on the plate, will this big financial hit affect workers, pensions and layoffs?

PG&E will lay-off contractors first. Then it will tighten the belt on PG&E employees as it shrinks its best to income ratio. Watch and see.

actually it was announced 8-9 officers (sr. level) were laid off, not only support support. in order to lay off union staff, they have to deal with union first... maybe this is something already happening and in negotiation.

pg&e protects its employees like nobody else. occasionally there will be a small round of targeted layoffs (like the poster below - he notes 2 layoffs) but in general the company does not like letting people go
