Thread regarding Nordstrom layoffs

$JWN CRASHES below $30

Nordstrom has the honor of being the worst performing stock in the entire S&P 500 for 2019.

Expect to see rumors soon on the Street that the Nordstrom boys are saving their Saturday cribbage winnings to buy out $JWN on the cheap.

Fortune agrees with me that this Anniversary Sale is make-or-break.

Can someone tell me, in the last couple of years, when the web store has failed during Anniversary, were people actually fired for this?

Next Nordstrom earns on August 15, would be a great time to announce DEEP cost cuts in Corporate, something truly austere.

Start by getting rid of all the Directors in tech. It is time!

Aaaaand there it is. $5+ off the lows on fresh talk of Nordstrom family buyout interest (since it’s so cheap now).

With the debt-financing dragging it down, won’t it turn out like all the private equity LBO retail disasters?

When do the acquired start-ups pay off?

$28.22 today, then managed to regain $29. 2H2019 ought to be quite a show.

$JWN plunged almost 5% from its intraday high today, closing under $29.

Has the Board stopped the buybacks? Are they no longer supporting the stock? That was just brutal today.

From the looks of it, Nordstrom would do well to sell amyl nitrite at the checkout at the Manhattan Mens' store.

As sad as it is to see this once-great company struggle lately, I am encouraged and reassured by the idea that they are providing feminine sanitary napkins in the men's bathrooms in their corporate offices.

We will have a ways to go, abolishing entirely the distinction between men and women – as if there are only two genders! Get with the current year, Nordstrom, it's 2019 and your pronouns are from the last century. But it's a good start.

So two cheers for Nordstrom!

I suspect now that the earnings report on August 15 will be better than expected and bounce both the stock and the general markets along with them (oversold). The problem is that $JWN could be trading at $25 by then. Do I hear $20?

I used to work for corporate. I cashed my stocks long ago once I realized how poorly business was handled by executives/upper level managers/ buyers/merchandisers...it’s basically the Titanic on fire and just hit an iceberg too. #Bye
