Is any more consulting from PK really needed?

The company is BILLIONS in the red, don’t truly have free cash flow and many hard working guys are getting pink slips while this guy is getting millions as a “consultant”. How??? If he was truly worth that then the company wouldn’t be in this position! I’m all for capitalism but this is outrageous!

Worth it? With that 6 mil, many other good employees and their families would've been saved, you id–t!

As long as he’s finally gone, it’s probably worth it.

Welcome to another episode of socialism for the rich and Darwinian capitalism for the poor.

The guy got fired for a reason. If he was up to it they would keep him. Pretty obvious... Negative cash flow, quadrupled debt, go on...
The outgoing money is hush money not to tell where the skeletons are buried. Nobody is gonna hire him now. So he'll play dirty for sure, if the money ain't right. He didn't learn much in his slb years but that one he is sure of.

'far from an id1ot'........ I'd say about a step from an id–t....are you one of the Schlumbot happy clappers? Every one of his 'initiatives' failed you utter mo–n.

Oh, you mean "remain attractive" for money-stealing top dogs?

So what? This is pretty standard for outgoing CEOs. It is part of his contract. SLB needs to remain attractive for the top job. We can all disagree with Paal but that guy was far from an id–t.

This company is being run like Russia just now, with Paal officially stepping down while unofficially still coining it it and running the show from a consulting position. It's his newest way of working.

instead of 6m cash, board shouldve given him 6m-equivalent in stock options priced at closing value the day his a– gets booted out. see if he can "earn" his consulting fee

Is this some kind of joke? Consulting for what?

Give the guy a break. He is 52, the 6M is 2M over three years to tide him over until he hits 55, and can start collecting his pension.

All these executive m0r0ns are only good at stealing money. It's a pity that they didn't learn anything from this downturn. Only low-level employees and their families were suffered, while these greedy m0r0ns have been enjoying their ridiculous pay checks.
