Thread regarding Fluor Corp. layoffs

Predictions

What is going to happen Sept 24th? The company is so far gone. Houston looks like rats leaving the ship. Everyone is leaving; old, young, experienced....
So sad Fields is having to come down to the unwashed to find out what happened to Fluor. Why cant Joel and Dan explain what happened under thier "leadership"?

Fluor is full of "managers" who protect themselves. They fire qualified employees who are over a certain age. The company has abandoned its identity, the one that made the company.

What about Southern California offices? Huge debts with no leadership.

I worked for a large Engineering and Construction company for 30 years and retired. I then had a opportunity to work for Fluor on the construction side and I worked for 10 years. I had heard for years that Fluor construction was top in the industry. I got a up close and personal of their work and to tell you the truth I wouldn't let Fluor Construction build me a dog house. I don't know how they made any money in construction. They missed deadlines the C P job in Baytown was the worst run job I ever saw. They had people in supervisory position that had no business being a supervisor. I left before the job was finished but I know they didn't make a profit on it.

What needs to happen is a meaningful plan to create a leaner and more efficient structure and immediately lay oit any other potential bad news even if that means another huge one-time hit. That's still better than the death by a thousand cuts approach taken so far.

Do we really need separate Netherlands and UK offices in Europe while losing billions?
Seems like the current value of lots of smaller offices should be evaluated including everything about Stork & AMECO.
Stork debt and the goodwill on books from Stork purchase needs to be addressed ASAP so it does not linger.
Some Government Group contracts should probably just be sold if there's a buyer.

Not just Energy. Stork is also a huge part of this trainwreck.

Huge amount borrowed to buy a company that was and is still losing money.

We have Shell Penguins and LNGC still on the books which will sustain huge losses. Something major has to happen. There is no knew work in Houston office. Jobs coming down and employees leaving in droves. You would have to live in cave not to see what is about I happen.

I think we have to get out of fabrication. No one would put work in our China shop accept us. And latest I heard we plan on being very selective. That shop has got to have debt tied to it. Layoffs cut expenses. We need profits to pay the bills and offset losses, and geez knows we got losses!

Hey, let’s make checklists for literally everything. Brilliant Joel, then let’s assign more acronyms. Who cares about work processes or tools, let’s call it quality. Stop making this so hard, you guys are in the weeds. And let’s welcome back Jim “stand alone” Wilkins from his guest appearance as a leader from his assignment in Manila. Great job Jim. Glad to see spinks had your back on that train wreck. Carlos, please make this fast and painless.

I think they start selling off parts of the mother shop.

The damage to Fluor Energy Chem was done over the last 5 years. Del Tufo, Shawn , Jim B, spinks and strange were the tools that gutted Houston. 2 gone already, 3 more to go. Shawns first LNG will be his last. Spines is getting reamed in SE Asia with his full service office and strange is hiding under Matt mcnothings skirt! That's leadership.

Unfortunately, that's what accountability looks like at Fluor. Screw up, get promoted to VP. BTW did we ever finish the coronation celebrations for Dan when he left?
