Training group Layoff purge

In an attempt to save cash as sales are down, Perkin Elmer has purged a number of Training and Support folks on Aug 20, 2019. Many of these folks were employees with more than 30 years of experience and knowledge.

This after a small purge and a restructure of the Sales organization. The generalist model isn't working and they are still not sure what the structure should be - not kidding here!

Company is on its last legs. They repaint old instruments a different color and call it something else and sell it as new technology. LoL

Do you even have to wonder why the "generalist sales" model fail?....Sales people that have lived inside their "bubble" without knowing anything about the outside world competition. Also no formal chemistry background which can't be helpful to help generate their revenue stream. Not letting people with retirement age to be laid-off is a brilliant move by the company. This is still "your father's Oldsmobile" company. Good luck PerkinElmer!
