Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

This means no layoffs for now ? This is from the earnings call.

Sanjit Singh – Morgan Stanley – Analyst

Hi. This is Sanjit Singh in for Keith Weiss. Thank you for taking the questions. Maybe to start off in terms of managing, let's say, Phase 2 of the transition. From an operating margin perspective, is the view that you would just sort of let the transition happen as rapidly as possible, take the headwinds on margins upfront and kind of move – accelerate through the transition to get to a better margin profile down the road or is the view that you will continue to protect margins as you execute through Phase 2?

David J. Henshall – President and Chief Executive Officer

Well, I think as you see the impact on the top line and certainly the overall growth, I mean that'll flow all the way through the P&L. I mean, we saw that in Q2 and in our guidance for the second half of the year. I think we've moved margins up a lot in the last couple of years. And so we're not going to do anything artificial. We're investing to drive and grow the business and drive the transition. We're, of course, always thoughtful in how we manage our expenses and our headcount growth and those types of things because we want to make sure we're investing in the right areas. But we absolutely have a view on how we're going to drive long-term sustainable growth. And so I wouldn't expect anything artificial from us in that regard.

The layoffs already started. Have received 6 farewell emails these last day's from different work colleagues. I am sure this is happening everywhere.

This is the main reason the company is increasing it's visibility for example at LinkedIn with recruitment posts to basically take the focus away around the redundancy.

Citrix do the right thing - and what other big companies have done in the past. Open up for a volunteer package.

I think it’s more about trimming the excess fat IMO.

There are good people that are trying to make a career unlike some that are collecting a paycheck trying to look busy. The management structure might be something to review and make changes to. From what I have heard, there are too many middle managers & a ton of director level + employees that are in that position based on who they know within the org. With the new SAP leadership team taking over, expect some changes within 6-month. Looks like they promoted a COO from internal. Might be the start of reducing staff. Also, I am sure the bird meetings will be no fun. Good luck to all the great people still there at Citrix. I wish you all happiness and the best of luck.

This only means that a massive layoff will occur in the fall. Maybe the Sept 4’th lay-off post is probably real.

DH sounds like a Mueller testimony bumbling id–t. Is he even in charge anymore after such a disastrous quarter?

Anyone else notice Citrix Santa Clara offices are for lease? https://42floors.com/us/ca/santa-clara/4988-great-america-pkwy Did they move? Wasn't this the netscaler team location that moved there back in the days? They should have sold that unit back when they had an opportunity to do so. Earnings are down 14% for that business line BTW. "Networking revenues declined 14% from the year-ago to $178 million (24% of total revenues). Notably, decline in the SSP business affected networking revenues during the reported quarter." The competition is getting real with Avi now part of VMware and NGINX part of F5.

Doesn't look like Citrix has filed any paperwork for potential layoffs, but that could be in the works....

This post has more to do with Tarot Card Reading than understanding how the business works !

Doesn't that word artificial mean mass layoffs like in the past ? Especially since its talking about the margins in the last couple of years ? With every layoff we had close to 4% improvement in margins.

Just trying to dissect it since you cannot give random information to investors. Why would the company set expectations with investors that any sort of things like that happened in the past will not happen in the near term to expand margins ?

All we can do is sign along - ELT are the back up singers..... here we go, 1..2..1..2...3..4

Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you?

This is an earnings call. Why the hell would management provide any guidance around reducing workforce. They did not miss by a few $$$. It was closer to $23M! Agreed with the previous message that a layoff will come and more than likely in the Q3FY19 for the company. They lost a few $$ off market cap as well, and I am sure the investors are not thrilled. All of this results in layoffs!

What does this mean?

I see no reasons from reading this insert that layoffs are off the table as the most logical option. At this point, layoffs must happen.
