Redundancies in North Wales?

I've heard rumours, anyone know how many are going?

Robertson used to be a good company to work for until CGG took over, now a complete disaster! Any money making projects seemingly binned off to be replaced by fantasy projects with no clients. Feel sorry for people still there. Managing Director hasn't got a clue what's going on and who does what. UK Manager is insane seemingly intent on destroying the company. Look at his various blogs, clearly a nutter!!

What are these “support roles”? How can the place continue to function?

Its a business strategy to make the support roles redundant. Not a financial one.

And as for the refurbishment.....that building needs dragging into the 21st century.

Overheard the HR rep say it was big - something like 30%, mainly on the technical side. Good luck to all!

Does this reflect the long term strategy to close the North Wales site?

Apparently, a handful of support roles were made redundant, yet numerous geologists are being hired. The main building is also undergoing considerable refurbishment, at a no doubt hefty cost.
