Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

Government Intervention

With the Lincoln County formal complaint and two more pending by Marshall and Ohio counties, the State of WV has asked the Federal Government to intervene and look at options of a government takeover. Frontier cannot keep up with the cost of maintaining the infrastructure and citizens cannot reach emergency services.

Letting Frontier keep their fiber network would be a mistake since there will be Frontier equipment at each end of the network which means, like everything else they touch, it won’t work right. There’s been rumors of Frontier selling WV for a while or the federal government taking us over but the main thing is, unless the current management is shown the door (all of them) it will continue to get worse. That’s the only thing they’re good or consistent at.

Maggie/Obama ponzi scheme full circle. Maggie took Verizon's garbage off its hands for free CAF money from fed government, uses the money to build out to a few new customers while ignoring 90% of its existing customers, Danny Boy comes in and gets in even deeper, now the Fed's force copper from Frontier with a bailout and subsidy to a knight in shining armor. No risk to the new company with the backing of the Feds. Brilliant. Danny and VP's make off with millions.

We haven't heard this in WV but anything is plausible given the company's total lack of effort in all facet's of the business in WV. However, I can't really see the government wanting to get involved with this business either? It's all very much rumor mill.

Would that be a good thing or a bad thing? Im not sure how all that would work with our pay?

I heard a variation on this SAME THING last night! That Frontier is going to be forced to forfeit their copper line's, in ALL states... They will be allowed to hold onto their fiber network. The forfieture of the copper lines plus an agreement to pay off a percentage of their income from their fiber networks in CTF will go towards repaying their loans, which will be taken by the Federal Govt.

This is part of the reason for the I9 forms being pushed. Since most of the company will become federal employees, they have to have these certifcations.

I also understand that any contracts with unions will be nullified and renegotiated as part of the agreement.
