Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Co-workers disappearing. Lay-off or time portal?

Over the last several months, some of my coworkers in MN have disappeared. Typically find out when you need something job related and then get the reply, “not sure who’s doing that now he/she was laid off x-weeks back.” Could this be hamr has caused a tear in the time space continuum or lay-offs are now random and happening?

Perhaps HAMR means HR-Assisted Manpower Removal?

Seagate's latest technology is real and called Heat Assisted People Remover or HAPR and sole purpose is to make people HAPpieR by getting them out of this terrible place. Seagate's most successful product!

The original author if this thread is discerning. He saw what others missed. Indeed, Seagate has developed technology like patterned media and HAMR to make dimples in spacetime that finance can use to jettison employees. The money saved, measured either classically or by quantum methods, is formidable. Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas. (or at least a let-one.)

$63m in layoffs last quarter, 3k employees down in the last year, down 13k in the last few years. Going to 30k employees in the next year as margins decrease and dividend needs to be protected and increased. Be prepared people. It will be ugly and packages will have to be decreased.
