I am so tired of hearing that the long-time employees are a group of over-paid, non-contributors who add no value. To all you new generation AVID employees what have you done to turn the company around?? Absolutely nothing! The long-term employees who are still here have more to offer then any of you ever will. Remember, you are nothing but lower cost replacements brought in to replace productive, innovative employees who were let go by a very incompetent executive and middle management team for no reason other than cutting cost so that the stock would go up and a small group of executives (and I use the term very loosely) would be able to cash out on stock options and walk away. Well that plan isn't working. As someone stated in a post on this website (not too long ago) ...... the stock would be back to the $5 - $6 range before you know it. Well what do you know. They were absolutely right. You new generation employees will never replace those long-term employees who were unjustly (and with absolutely zero class by Avid management) let go. When those people were here (along with the rest of us "old-timers" who are still here) the company was truly an innovative industry leader and profitable. We will never be that again. We have an awful executive staff as well as upper and middle management who's main concern is to hold on to their ridiculous salaries (which they don't earn nor would any other organization pay them). Just try to keep the company floating for another day so some execs and management can cash big pay checks they don't come close to earning. This is a terrible place, no one wants to work here. If fact on our careers web page there were testimonials from employees regarding what a great place it is to work. Well guess what, some of those testimonials were taken down and replaced because those same people quit because they realized how bad of shape we this organization is in, and it is only about lining the pockets of a small group of executives with money. There is no focus on innovation, just cost cutting. Within 2 years there will be no more Avid because we are in such a financial mess with over-whelming debt thanks to the leadership of our executive staff and totally incompetent board of directors. Why don't you all just leave and put the long term employees in charge? We could do a better job and maybe bring back some of the key individuals who senselessly loss their jobs. Then we might have a chance of survival. But I doubt we could bring back the 100 or so key individuals we senselessly let go because the majority have gone on to be successful in much better companies where the are appreciated and are once again flourishing. How ironic. Thank you to the E-staff and board of directors for destroying a once prominent company. I hope you are enjoying the money you put in your pockets at the expense of the others who were sacrificed for your greed.

Is the OP still working at Avid or did they get canned?
On the $$ regarding innovation. We did that thing a few months ago or so wherein we spent all that money to have a large number of customers come to Avid to tell us how and what to innovate. That was a great move. We don't know because we are sorely lacking regarding having innovative thinkers (we could use a real CTO) and they don't know because they aren't engineers. Another waste of $$$
Whoa, whoa, whoa. We won awards at IBC, 3 first place awards
1) talked the most and on and on but said nothing. Lead by the CPO and CEO
2) The zero return on investment award, let's spend an enormous amount of money we don't have to throw parties, eat out at great restaurants, booze it up, send people who don't need to be there for a vacation
3) The "keep on moving because there is nothing to see here award"
Obviously the title of this subject matter is spot on. It is extremely evident this is a company divided and full of back stabbers. It is quite entertaining to watch on almost a daily basis.
Clearly some of you so called talented long term employees have more than enough time on your hands and nothing better to do than to sit around and write a book on a loser site like this instead of using your incredibly productive minds to make a positive difference. Better to sit back and collect YOUR big paychecks and complain rather than actually do the job you are being paid to do. If at this point you are so disgruntled then LEAVE and take your disgustingly negative attitudes along with you OR step up and BE the great leaders you complain you don't have. You immediately lose all credibility of a long time loyal and valued employee by posting c-ap on a site like this. Bravo...You should be so proud.
Speaking of innovation. Evidently we did not win any recognition at IBC 2019 regarding a Best of Show product. We aren't on the list of winners. Small players like EditShare and Facilis won Best of Show awards. We announced that we are collaborating with an industry innovator Haivision SRT Hub. Wow that is impressive. Let's jump on some other company's coat tails.
We lost more than a 100 great people. We lost hundreds of people who were hard working, productive employees....... they were dedicated and would bleed Avid purple. For that they were given a kick in the rear and shown the door. And I agree, layoffs at Avid are always cold and classless. It's basically "Hit the Road" we have no use for you. It's disgusting the way so many people play up to management. That includes managers, directors, V.P.s etc, all s—ing up to whoever is above them. Then they will bad mouth that same person after s—ing up to them. Watching this behavior is enough to make a person sick.
