Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Do we really need a union?

You built this brand and now corporate greed is going to sell you out to the lowest bidder. Now is the time to stand up and demand what you have worked so hard to build. General Dynamics is on a mission to destroy the Gulfstream brand at your detriment. They will continue to outsource your jobs to Mexicali as soon as possible. Don't wake up a few years from now with regrets that you didn't stand up to their assult on your livelihood. Right now we have the power because we control the production. Don't squander the leverage that we have because they are working overtime to take that leverage away from us. Organize a union before it's too late.

I’m surprised this is getting so much traction. There were union fliers posted in the bathrooms in building X and Main on Thursday. I’ve also been invited to the next get together but I’m still debating on attending. The person who invited me said there are just shy of 100 people who are very committed to making this happen and they have a solid plan to execute a long campaign. I was taken back by who approached me about it. Let’s just say they are in very good standing with management and highly respected but he was able to convince me he is sincere and not some plant trying to find out who may be sympathetic to unionize.

I had to work under a union at an airline. No more.

I have been at GS for 25 years. Mention a union and you will be out the door! Georgia is a "Right to Work State".
Gulfstream started to go downhill when General Dynamics bought Gulfstream.
The only hope you have is if management realizes it's mistakes. (Good luck with that!)
