Thread regarding Tower International Inc. layoffs

Hold on tight

Hope nobody from Tower is feeling secure. Plans are slowly starting to leak or at least rumors of more cuts on the near horizon. Grand Rapids Office is said to be in trouble. Probably closed in next 6 months. IT is due to take a large hit as well as they were spared previously to help with the clean up. Mexico and Brazil locations are starting to see layoffs coming their way. Will be interested to see how long until it trickles down to the plants. As programs start to wind down they will not be finding new ones to replace them.

Livonia will be shut down for sure next year. Anyone left will be moving to New Boston Headquarters. Many have already been forced to move. There are going to be more cuts by year end to help with the amount of people that are going to be moving to New Boston. A ton of talent has been lost from Tower and I think over the next year you are going to see those results affecting Tower. Customers are starting to take notice and many replacement and new programs will be going to other companies. Look for companies like Metalsa and MAGNA to grow. The new owners are right sizing Tower out of work. I also here that customers are not happy with how the new owners are operating and that it will start to have an affect on L&W business as well. Hopefully, the owners can straighten things out and this merger can work in the long run for the people at Tower and L&W. Many friends still there and hate to see the horrible environment they are put it.

Unbelievable what the decision makers are doing to families. Tower employees sure were lied to from the old and new management. Has the new owner showen his face yet at Tower since the purchase or does he still phone it in?

The changes are starting. Grand Rapids office has been announced it will be closing. More changes on the way. Livonia office started moving more people to New Boston. And with more cuts coming in the next month they will probably be shutting down Livonia early next year.
