Big Mistake leaving Railroad ROW

The only reason they want to migrate off the Qwest network is the costs of their railroad lease agreements. You can’t have it both ways, either your fiber gets cut several times a week or stays intact along the railroad R/W
The expenses of being on the railroad is minimal compared to the damages and maintenance of being on public ROW.
This is why Qwest maintained high value customers year after year, no outages and a secure plant. They love to throw techs under the bus for damages that would never happen on the railroad.
What’s the real reason for the Unicorn project? To replace fiber that has been damaged so many times that it will not pass the tests any longer for high capacity circuits. In fact the new plant is already getting chopped up regularly. Ever wonder why L3 placed so many spare ducts on their first build? Just pull another new network in once the old ones are butchered up by constant damages causing long duration outages.
On top of that use as many contract locaters who have no ownership of the very plant they are supposed to protect. Just fall guys for when the inevitable damage occurs.

That does not seem to follow the company’s directions I have yet to see them make bad decision
They always seem to make the right moves as did Enron, WorldCom , One Tel

Seems you mention Nacchio's name here, your post gets taken down pretty quickly.

They use the same railroad R/W here also but their pie in the sky went on DOT R/W.

The Railroad route was the core of Legacy Qwest's network and why they were the target of acquisitions. Why Nacchio was buying it as fast as he could with Uncle Phil's money.

Must be different in your area. Around here, L-L3 and L-Q fiber both use Railroad ROW, sometimes in the same ROW just different POPs depending on the route.
