I get that this needed to happen as a direct consequence of the GM strike, but the strike isn’t going to last forever, is it? If this whole situation doesn't go any further than a few short furloughs, this is not going to be such a big problem. However, I doubt that things will pan out that way. Can’t help but wonder if there is a bigger picture, and is the leadership just using this strike as a clever way to get rid of people that would have been shown the door even if the GM strike didn’t happen. Can’t wait to see how long will this really lasts and how many folks will be called back in after the strike is over. My two cents we will have a lesser headcount after this.
