For more than 2 decades I worked for Anthem in IT and for the first time I am leaving my laptop at home and enjoying my PTO. Most of my colleagues have already been let go and we are now barely maintaining our system with our Legato counterparts. I expect my number to be called soon so, I DON’T CARE ANYMORE !!!!!!

It has been a rough road and if you have a bad boss it really makes it hard. Working with oversees people is a challenge on its own especially Language barrier. Upper management does not care because it is bigger bonus in their pocket. I challenge upper management to work with these oversees people at lower level and see how bad it is. Also why are we giving so much control to Leggatto ? I am close to retirement and really don't care anymore, if you have a few years left I suggest to find a different company to work for. It would be a good idea to get away from Health Care. If Democrates win and we go towards Medicare for all or something like that, Health care companies may go under.
Skeen was gone at the end of last week. I do not have any other details.
So, has anyone heard that Tim Skeen is gone????
So sorry to hear @11KQgLIy-9gyr ... but like you said, the rest of us left specially like myself in IT will most likely be getting our numbers called sometime in March 2020 if not sooner. Funny, just got an email from our manager reminding us about looking at our Performance Goals, really .. as if anybody cares about it anymore. Like in I wrote in my initial post ... I DON’T CARE ANYMORE !!!
So, I was impacted by the IT layoffs. I think the thing that makes me sick is the lack of diversity we are now seeing and nothing being done. Recently eight new leaders were promoted in IT and ALL 8 were Indians. 7/8, male Indians. For those left, be careful, your time is coming (March 2020) And don’t be fooled, long term plan, 100% Legato. Way to go Anthem!
One poster mentioned that there will probably be no more layoffs coming up soon for 2020. I tend to believe this coz most of the long time associates left behind are left with the impossible task of maintaining the various Anthem systems by themselves with Legato resources who basically knows nothing about the systems they are supposed to support. With all the subject matter experts gone, the ones left behind I believe are being set up to fail to perhaps give Anthem reasons to just fire them so Anthem won’t have to pay any severance anymore. Please feel free to comment on this if you feel different.
Fake my a– ... the only fake posters here are the browned nose kiss a– newly hired associates ... and about the so called severance .. have anyone read how the new so called “supplemental severance” package is laid out ... you basically have to jump through all sorts of red tape just to get that so called severance that Anthem is handing out ... I’m just hanging in and riding this sh– storm of a company coz I don’t want to give anthem that severance money that I strongly feel I deserve regardless of how ridiculously it is now set up.
OK Anon , he/she must compartmentalized and surrounded by millennials. Regardless, of course you care , and likely take pride in what you have accomplished and sacrificed at the same time. Look at it this way, based on current policy - if your number IS up, with 20 years you'd have 30 weeks of severance , a nice chunk to pay down debt, roll it into a biz, change your perspectives with new objectives. So to say you don't care, make sure you got a "what next" scheme mapped out , then you really won't care. Don't leave any sc-aps on the table , ie. $ you lose on separation. Good Luck , u got this !

Both Gloria McCarthy and Gail Beaudreaux say no more RIF’s this year, but I no longer believe a word anyone in Business or IT SLT says - they’ve burned any respect or trust I ever had in them, after over 20 years of service.
@11KQgLIy , you're likely a fake poster - there's nothing but "new faces" within Anthem IT. If you are real , keep hiding - they won't seek you out if they can't find you.
With regard to Retirement eligibility , age 55 or greater. In 2017 , Anthem offered early retirement that offered a bridge (to some) to medicare coverage , and 1.5 weeks pay per service years. Entering 2020, you would have grabbed that then and had been pleased. Retirement now is a "Good Luck" and perhaps a Walmart gift card. Retirement benefit is Anthem's , by not having you there.
Can someone please advise on what are the current pre requisites to be able to file for Retirement benefits at Anthem?
@11KQgLIy, To our IT poster. I'm right with you my friend, On all accounts ,years quite a few more, but loyalty is a one way street. They expect loyalty from us, but we don't get it from Anthem. If your eledgible for reirement , Execute your retirement benefits, if you don't , it goes into Anthems pocket.. If it's worth anything I am hearing no RIF's until 2020 so that we don't disrupt Anthem's peak season.. please don't quote me on that I'm not sure it's entirely true. I myself am not sure I believe from what we have all witnessed in the past. Good luck from what I've seen all my friends that have been let go find relief and are much happier, healthier.. and have moved on. Cheers..
