CT, retiree was told two different stories from union officials why we are losing retiree health care with this contract. First story Frontier's financial problems are eliminating retiree health care, Second story is that Frontier told them they don't have retiree health care. I called Milliman and they said absolutely Frontier has retirees up to 65 years old on retiree health care and after 65 there retiree health care is used as there secondary insurance. Just verified that Frontier CWA retirees in Rochester N.Y. ARE RECEIVING retiree health care and after 65 there health care is used as there secondary insurance, so they don't need medigap insurance...…..What the hell is going on with local 1298 in CT. union negotiators...…...I left under the 1/12/2017 EVSP offer ,check offer on CWA website ,know mention that retiree health was ending with contract....pass practice like in Rochester N.Y, CONTINUES retiree health care.

All I can say is that I think we need our government to step in and stop this terrible stuff that's happening with frontier. I will get to the point I think that Verizon RIPPED OFF frontier. I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon takes over again . The fiber transport toll buildings . They don't want the copper and the fact is that frontier wanted copper and pay how many billions ???. They want copper what a joke that is. They spent money and time trying to get speed out of the copper didn't work and don't or didn't put interest into the main fiber transport buildings which make millions per day . Heres what I think I don't think that the sale was real from the beginning some kind of scam . For a company to spend that much $$$$ and not go into the direction of the future to make lots of $$$$ like VZ did . VZ did not care about the copper plant. Don't be surprised if VZ just walks right back in . Or another company for pennies on the dollar. And trust me whats copper. Im with a company that terrible and I hope something is done this is not right . What choices do I have do I retire or do I stay and probably lose my pension lump sum and who knows what else . Or do I retire and take lump sum and lose my retiree medical and have to go get my own medical $$$$ what kind of retirement is that to have to pay. A lot of people cant retire because of this and will most likely not be able to retire ever. NOT FAIR other retirees retired with GTE or Verizon have it made and people that stuck with the co frontier are really screwed . Like I said VZ knew what they were doing laughing all the way . PLEASE we need someone to step up in our unions big time don't forget where you guys came from come on UNIONS thank for listening I still have much more to say.
Not only have they cancelled insurance but They have not Offered the rmap healthcare plan they promised to. There was a signed contract with specific costs for a retirement medical plan. Frontier is now doubling the cost of the plan. Cwa local 1298 is allowing them to get out of a signed contract. This is unheard of. I don’t know who’s worse, frontier or Cwa.
This has been a long time coming. I’ve always been against two tier contracts for this very reason. Company’s have been playing the long game knowing they’d win eventually. When unions and union members started agreeing to not have new hires have same benefits as current members it’s common sense that when there are more of them they’re gonna screw you just like you screwed them... knowing what they’re accepting when hired has nothing to do with it imo.
CWA1298 is a disgrace to the the CWA. And so unions. They have no idea that the backbone of unions is that there is strength in numbers and we succeed when we stand together.
That is what we did for those that preceded us and I guess we thought the union would be there for us now that we need them.

CWA represents employees at Frontier, AT&T, Verizon, if Frontier retirees lose healthcare are AT$T and Verizon next?
Union CWA 1298 needed to change contract to position outside technicians for surplus protecting inside jobs as a place to move surpluses techs to satisfy article 7. The question is where are the job locations and what will happen to the techs pay rate.
rumor has it union busting Spectrum is lurking in the shadows to acquire Connecticut. looks like local 1298 is right sizing and cutting lose retirees for them...….Watch and see
Ny will soon loose the retiree healthcare. Contract comes up soon for some union contracts in that state
CWA 1298 could have extended the existing contract benefiting the rank and file and the retirees, Dave publicly said he had no interest in extending the existing contract. Why is that Dave ?

Worked there for 33 years,watched Maggie and McCarthy hire non qualified managers to run the company into the ground. It's amazing people like that get to keep their jobs. The board of directors should fire every manager and McCarthy.Start over and hire some people who are qualified to work in the phone industry. I wouldn't be surprised to see them cut retirees benefits.The company and the union don't care about retirees.They only care about their self serving interests.The CEO's should have had enough time to steal millions from the company. The union only cares about themselves for today only.This is the state of the world we live in today.

Frontier is going to eliminate retiree heath care in all states. CT is just the first one
