Well...Sanjay made an appearance in lehi today....One day before “close” and informs the site that tools will be leaving... and “technicians” too. Pretty broad statement not too many details coming from anyone on site yet. Anyone hear anything else?

Intel jumped ship to let Micron do the dirty work of cutting American jobs as they are so good at it!

No more purchasing or recommending Micron products from me ever!
Thanks new SanCron!
Just in, Lehi site to be closed by the end of the year.
70+ percent of the techs are gone from Boise if not more over the last three years. Don't count on being offered a job over here. Sure you can put in for Boise job openings which all the Boise laid off techs are already doing.
If you get an offer to go to Manassas that sounds like a good move to me. The technical technician jobs in Idaho are sadly few and far between right now. I know a lot of techs who were let go in January struggling to find work right now.
This is true. We were all so lucky to receive the phone calls on halloween night. 1/3 to 1/2 of all technicians on site
I’m not sure if it really is top heavy. There has been minimal hiring in the last 12 months, and lots of people have left. Thinking more people will move or leave than they expect...who knows what will happen then?
How does Micron select employees for lay-off? Lehi is very much Top heavy. Can’t imagine cutting half the tools out and not laying off some folks upstairs.
Let me put on my shocked face
They announced voluntary severance and relocation packages today. Anyone have any info on life in and around Manassas? More than likely making the move...
I’m a process tech. Was contacted by my Supervisor and was told about the plan briefly. By the sounds of it all process/equipment techs are being told we will be let go. We could have a option of transferring to possibly Boise or Virginia.
So he said tools and techs will be leaving? Not engineers or managers?
Welcome to Boise, if you previously worked here I bet you know of no techs still working here now.
