Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart Changes 2020

It's that time of the year. Let's list all the changes we expect Walmart to do in 2020. This may be several things:

  • changes due to pilot programs
  • changes due to market changes
  • changes due to restructuring
  • changes due to financial reasons
  • changes due to (fill in the blanks)

I am really curious to see what people expect as it relates to 2020 and what it means for the Walmart worker (first) and everything else.

A big NON-event except changes to 401K and you can get a Roth.

I don't think those GM DMs will be eliminated in 2020 as everyone else does. We're doing a mock trial of it here and the areas look like war zones until the day for that 'area' arrives. The cycle continues.

If any of you have seen on the history channel “how America was built“, that’s what’s happening.

Marc Lore will leave willingly or be forced out. He's not Walmart's golden child any more. https://www.forbes.com/sites/christopherwalton/2019/10/08/wsj-report-on-jetblack-is-further-proof-of-the-gross-ineffectiveness-of-marc-lores-innovation-record-at-walmart/amp/

more responsibilities for the already overworked associates. More stuff shoved on employees with less people to share in the job duties...oh yes with low wages and a measly pay increase........while the company officials pad their pockets with high salaries, stock incentives while the hard working employees get paid jack sh–.

I am expecting to see a lot more store closings and a lot more job consolidation.
DM’s will be a thing of the past.
It will be getting a worse and worse place to work and there is no long term future for any young people. Young managers need to find a better future for yourselves.
