Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

Who else remembers the good old days?

I must say, I joined Scientific-Atlanta in 1997, and relocated to the Lawrenceville campus with my group in 2000 when it opened. For 10 years or so, it was a vibrant, happening place. Interesting technology, interesting people, it felt like the world was our oyster. Labs on every floor in every building, lots of meetings with tons of people, you were proud to be there. For some time after the Cisco acquisition, it felt the same. We even built the 6th building around that time. Then a steady decline under Cisco. Yes, video was a difficult business and now even more so, but some companies played to win and are winning. It feels shocking, stunning, and so very sad to see this once vibrant place come to a slow dying death. Ah, the good'ol days. I'll always remember then. RIP LWR.

I haven't been to LWR in 3 years since I left. Back then, it was essentially dead, building 1 and 5 empty. Building 2 and 4 more than half empty, majority of cars in parking lot seemed to belong to Technicolor. I know 2 people still left at Synamedia and they said everyone is consolidated in 2 floors of 1 building now.
