Employment offer without salary numbers

I was offered a “promotion” with OXY but they couldn’t tell me my package details or what the pay range for my position would be. I genuinely wanted to stay but given the certainty of a 24 months severance or a promise with no hard numbers, the decision made itself.

Has anybody gotten an offer with actual numbers?

I can’t tell if they are just trying to purge us or if they’re just tripping over themselves because they don’t know what they’re doing. Free tip, if you want people to work for you, you need to tell them how much they’ll earn.

And with all that level of incompetence, they managed to buy APC and now working on piece meal sale. Goes to show that while money does not bring happiness, it can certainly destroyed a lot.

Sadly as much as I didn’t want to believe it, they just don’t have the skill set or emotional intelligence to execute a good transition and integration. Their lack of people skills is shocking to say the least. Everything is done in a vacuum and their own employees in the same function don’t know what the other is doing. We got bought out by a below average organization.

They are not organized enough to use an offer as a test of loyalty. They truly are making it up as they go along.

Your offer sounds like a “loyalty test” to me. If you don’t accept it, you likely won’t get another.

Yes, that "promotion" really means they will pay you exactly the same for at least double the responsibility and stress but can't tell you with any certainty where your office will be located. Makes the decision pretty easy doesn't it? Yes, I was offered that great opportunity as well and politely declined.

After their first few head-scratching blunders, I began asking myself “are they PLAYING dumb, or are they REALLY this dumb?”.

Now after watching months of bungling & fumbling, I’ve concluded that it’s definitely the latter.

So weird feeling like the Navy Seals got bought by the Keystone Cops.

This whole acquisition should have the ‘Benny Hill Show Theme Song’ playing in the background.

Exactly. You go to the store to buy bubble gum and get a receipt. What is Oxy smoking to think that people deserve less than that when it comes to salary. Did they pay the billions for Anadarko and the contract was a hand shake with puff?
