Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Terrible week for Kroger employees

Kroger leadership is all about profit (for shareholders). The people getting tired are the scape goats for the leadership's terrible policies and procedures that just haven't worked. The general public just doesn't know what a HORRIBLE place Kroger is to work for....they use to take pride in home/work balance, now they don't, and to be honest they just don't care!

Rodney will go down as the CEO who destroyed what was once a great company....so sad that he has destroyed many great people and families along the way with his incompetence and uncaring nature for the associates of the company. Shame on the board of directors for allowing this to happen!

Yeah. Kroger doesn't actually care. I hear lip service but barely make ends meet. Time to dump them asap. My local 555 is also worthless for having any actual backbone. I should have left years ago.

Get ready for some more before bonus payouts 2020. Looks like some ASM's are in the cross hairs as well as GO - which could mean more SMs going bye bye or being demoted to ASM...

I’m proud to say I walked out of this horrible place and I’d rather eat a bullet than go back. I wasted almost 20 years of my life there and honestly have nothing to show for it. To all Kroger employees please listen....... Life is better on the other side. Retail doesn’t have to be hell. Go somewhere where you can get a fair wage and be appreciated for your sacrifices. Your union has failed you. The company has taken everything and left you sc-aps. Eventually the department heads will be salary and will be forced to work 60 hours a week for what they got for 45. Eventually they will go down the path of their past competition and they will fail to evolve and will fade away. Your CEO has already run one company out of business and he is well on his way to accomplishing this for a second time. Go back to school....... Take online classes..... get a certification in something....... And with all the love and compassion in my heart please DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DITCH THE SINKING SHIP

I have worked for kroger for 7 years now . I really enjoyed at first and moved up through the company realitvly quickly. The last 3-4 years have been hell tho . The hours cuts and store and associate managers attitudes have been diabolical to say the least ! And the favoritism to some employees from the management is disgraceful. Seems you get rewarded for bad work !

Shame on you Kroger for treating loyal employees like this . And shame on you turning a blind eye to bullying and harassment by the people that's meant to be leading this once great company into the future. I can honestly say I've worked for a handful at most of what I would call good managers and that's being generous.

I have said 5 years ago we will shut the doors and I think it’s coming. I love what I do and love my customers, but Kroger has lost my loyalty even as a shopper. Am I afraid to lose my job, no. I hate this company and so does everyone who works here. They have cut hours to the bone, you can’t get anything done and you are threatened and treated like a POS. These fools have brought in people from Utah and these clowns think they can run a Cincinnati base store like to they do out there. Well I hate to inform you but you don’t have a clue. Pretty soon you will have no employees,no business and no company. Get your c-ap together Kroger or karma will come for you.She is knocking on the door. Also I hear Rodney is going to be fired as well. Not soon enough. You have fired some great people and you have nothing outside the doors to hire. Kroger can kiss my a$$!!!!

We want all those things too! Either you are not an employee or have not worked in the store ever or in the last 6 or so years. If it was just that easy, way is it not happening in a large percentage of stores. The hours ARE not there!!! They are lining Rondey's and the other executives that got on average a 20% raise in 2019... I got 4% and i was told i was lucky, everyone else got far less! So were was the investment??? Where is the return???

They keep taking away our ability to adjust to the needs of our specific customers. All this micromanaging is ruining any chance we have against the competition. It's like Kroger is suddenly racing to the bottom with Walmart. All of the quality that used to keep us above them is being discarded for sh–ty everyone "compliant" every store the same nonsense. If the customers wanted to all go to the exact same store they would just shop online. Which is what they claim to want to prevent...

How long are we going to let Rodney run this company into our demise. Kroger re-stock is a complete joke. I wish the stockholders would actually look at what it’s done to Fred Meyer.

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out we are failing from Rodney’s business strategy. He is completely out of touch with what our associates and customers want and these layoffs are a direct reflection of his inability to lead us into the next 10 years of retail.

Store managers and associates have no confidence in this company, the vision and direction they are taking us. Sinking ship for sure. Very sad.

Fred Meyer, Barney kroger, very sorry your legacy has been left of the hands of a guy who has no clue. Shareholders beware, if you continue to let this man run this company your investment will be lost.
