Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

Riverbed was "a mistake" for the investor

From this article in Forbes:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoinegara/2019/10/02/meet-wall-streets-best-dealmaker-new-billionaire-orlando-bravo/

"And he’s not immune to mistakes. [Investor's] $3.6 billion 2015 acquisition of San Francisco-based digital network tracker Riverbed Technology is currently struggling because of slowing sales and too much debt."

Also from the article:
"There are also layoffs. Those can total as much as 10% of the workforce, for which [Investor] doesn’t apologize. 'In order to realign the business and set it up for big-time growth, you first need to take a step back before you take a step forward. It’s like boxing,' he says."

Riverbed has laid off, what, over 50% in the last four years with no end in sight? Ouch. I wonder how much better things would be for everyone if they had laid off the right 10% in the first place!

TB’s first and fatal mistake was being blinded by the WAN-OP tech space and not heavily considering or understanding why the brain-drain occurred leaving a bunch of lifers and CISCO leftover nobodies that drained the company and TB of their $. Riverbed took them for a ride lol. WAN-OP is a dying business and SD-WAN is done better by the bigger companies. If I were Orlando Bravo, I would dress up this pig and cut his losses.

TB's mistake was allowing people, whom are complete opposites of them, run or influence Riverbed. TB doesn't give off that "old" vibe rather they're more vibrant. They should know not to hire or keep people are opposing in thought because their success is related to themselves. That being said, TB does have a track record of ripping company's apart and I wonder if they're realizing leadership and the a** kissers that hover around these people ARE the problem.

"RVBD leaders outsmarted "

As hard as it is to believe that any sentence beginning with those 3 words could be accurate, you are 100% right.
