The rumors are true – Rite Aid will be closing two distribution centers in Falls Township.

The affected distribution centers near Philly(operated as a single facility)were among those sold off to Walgreens along with just under 1900 store locations in the Southeastern,Northeastern,and Intermountain states.Of the acquired distribution centers,only the Dayville(CT) one appears to be kept open by Walgreens which has already closed over a third of the acquired Rite Aid locations(stores and DC's,they just announced Spartanburg months ago).Among continuing operations(not sold off),very little change in store count last quarter(2 net closures),and the remaining eastern states stores will still be served by DC's in Waterford(MI),Liverpool(NY),and Aberdeen(MD).Since the March HQ shake-up,store closures among continuing operations have been minimal,and lets just hope it stays that way under Heyward Donigan's watch...
