The atmosphere in the company is grim, at least. People are not hiding anymore. There was an M2 M1 meeting in the proximity and the door was still open. They were refering to team members as "expandables".
Quite interesting that after the German press caught them by surprise, adidas quickly rushed setting up an all employee meeting with the works council and the CFO in two weeks from now. Guess what the outcome will be... Shame on you adidas! Shame that the company has soaring profits yet it is laying off to cover the costs for trump style buildings.

It is true. Insiders in higher positions confirmed this to the press. One can see the level of frustration at higher levels. Many of the seniors that already knew about the layoffs have already left or relocated. The Future of IT as they label the mass layoff means no IT will be kept in the HQ, but all will be relocated to lower wage countries, primarily outsourcing. The strategy is the same one that was applied at Henkel by the same KR. Fun fact, did you know that some of the companies that different departments got outsourced to, are owned by families of some seniors?
What is more outrageous and shows how crooked the company is, is the fact that the works council has no means to do anything. There is a huge pressure on them and except occasional small wins in irrelevant areas, Nothing is done. The people that got laid off during GBS, were promised full support by the works council, however, except for the “connected” ones, the others had no chance to find an alternate position in the company. The current open positions are mainly low skilled jobs, so it will be impossible to find something else in the company for 600 laid off people
Whatever you do, do not make the outsourcing process easy! Let them suffer and give them a bit of their medicine.

You can use google translate to get the context. Nordbayern.de is one of the biggest local news and no yellow press. It sounds serious. I would not understand if this is really true. It would be a big shame for the board, considering that the company will have another record breaking year. Most revenue in history, most net income in history.
