Thread regarding Prudential layoffs

Are there happy employees at Prudential?

Everybody here seems so miserable lately, and with good reason. So I'm just curious, is there anybody left who still enjoys their job here?

all the happy employees are downvoted, so what's the point in posting...you guys are all miserable.

There are happy employees but they work you hard. There is a lot of work and not enough people to get it done. Creates stress and a competitive environment. Standards for performance are also extremely high.

There absolutely are happy employees at Prudential. Ive been one for almost 20 years. It’s an excellent company. The voluntary severance package is generous and fair. Those with negative attitudes toward Prudential should definitely take it! Move on, Prudential doesn’t deserve these negative comments.

Prudential is being converted in to a shell company.

An optional separation package program introduced to all U.S employees last week tells it all. Better, faster, bolder, the new mantra (pick one, seriously) means you are really just a widget. If they could replace all humans with robots, they would, but settling for “cheap” offshore alternatives will suffice to keep the ship afloat short term. The environment for any remaining employees below VP rank is bordering on abusive. Run away if you can.

My vote is no unless you are in investments or an officer of the firm. Too many changes all at once, lack of communication of future vision, and rolling layoffs / reorganization’s have resulted in a “more with less” mentality that continues to get worse. No upward mobility and an employee benefits package that just isn’t what younger generations are looking for.
