Get whatever you want at Rent A Center

If you don't like the way that RAC makes you pay your bill, or you just want something free, call the 1800 and complain. Better yet give a bad score on the VOC and you can get whatever you want. Want a month a free time, granted...only have $50 to pay off your tv and you want a new one...complain and they will give you a brand new one with that same $50 payout.
That isn't customer service, that is k–ling profitability and morale.
Keep this going and you will see turn over with employees and losses going up!!

As a current employee I can honestly agree with this statement. Any complaint to our 800 number or any complain at all results in complete over compensation and complete disregard of rules or contracts. We have basically taught our customers to skip interactions with our staff and jump immediately to calling the 800 number. The morale is extremely low when you cant enforce any rule or regulation.

Their last quarter was strong, are you saying things are slowing down now? Any particular reason?

Things will never change at rac, notice how business is slowing? The consumer has many more options these days, rac can't adapt for some unknown reason. Maybe it's because they recycle the rd, vp and ceo positions.
