An optional separation package program introduced to all U.S employees last week tells it all. Better, faster, bolder, the new mantra (pick one, seriously) means you are really just a widget. If they could replace all humans with robots, they would, but settling for “cheap” offshore alternatives will suffice to keep the ship afloat short term. The environment for any remaining employees below VP rank is bordering on abusive. Run away if you can.

I've been trying to figure this one out as well. I am not sure why this has not been in the news cycle unless they have been paying their PR teams overtime to keep a lid on it. Prudential has been given significant tax breaks on the municipal, state, and federal level. The new tower they put up on Broad street is built on a sight of a historically designated building. The state and city allowed them to tear it down is they invested in the Hanes building renovation. They continue to get tax breaks for the new building on the backs of NJ taxpayers all while outsourcing jobs out of this country. Very sad indeed.

Great point! With the major outsourcing project going on right now, I’m not sure how Prudential is going to handle the reputational risk. If i have my retirement in policies with a company that when I call I get “John” from India, I would be quickly looking to transfer the funds to a company that understands the value of customer service.
