Thread regarding McDermott International Inc. layoffs

None of these posts are from McDermott Employees

I just heard about the existence of this website......This is hilarious. For the people on here who actually work with me at McDermott, they would know that our Executives just got stock bonuses. If our management team were planning on filing for bankruptcy, why would they bother?
And no one here is worried about losing their job, so please find another company to bottom feed on.

So when you say "None of these posts," your own posts are ncluding included, which means you are not an employee. Which explains why none of your coworkers are worried.

If last post were true, it would be too bad. And it would be symptomatic of the state of MDR. Messaging and bullying over honesty and listening. There's the door and give me my retention bonus. Turning a deaf ear to employee concerns. Turning a blind eye to the deteriorating trends in operations and finance. Not stifling employees, but driving them to an anonymous message board. Not marketing and growing, but angrily fixating dissent. There's the door.

If true, MDR would be better served if she would focus on marketing, turning opportunities into backlog into revenue. Not happy-talk interviews with the CEO like some Erin Burnett wannabe. Not getting posts deleted.

During the 2008 banking crisis nearly 70% of top level execs got bonuses...several banks had to shut down afterwards. The best way to understand the health of a company is it’s financial statements, cash flows, debt ratios, etc....

Of course ppl are getting laid-off it’s construction. Jobs downsize the closer to the end they get. I’m at the Asheville site and they have been laying off and transferring people for months....I left the Calpine site and took a month off before coming here but the same thing happened there.......job started coming to an end and they started laying off.
If you’re project isn’t coming to an end and you’re worried about your job then maybe you should concentrate on doing a better job. McDermott needs to get out of power. They have lost their asses in the power plant sector and they like to blame it on CB&I but it’s just as much McDermott. They kept with the same trend. When they took control of CB&I projects the only thing they changed was the name and logo.

Keep laughing Giggles. We're all in the same boat. There's a connection to you not having heard of this site, not knowing what's going on around, and not anticipating layoffs.

As far as I'm concerned, no one on here should admit to being an employee unless you want to be bullied and threatened.

LOL LOL LOLL LOLLL LOLL

How could they be? People have nothing better to do than malign our exalted leadership (minus one).

OP submits the statement "no one here is worried about losing their job" as proof that no one commenting here (other than OP) works at McDermott.

This is proof only that, if OP him/herself even works here, s/he is clearly officing in a far corner cube at Oak Park or Westchase or maybe at Westway II where nobody talks to him/her.

Regardless of the nexus between bonuses and bankruptcies, believing that jobs aren't on the line during this crisis is foolish at best. And yes, MANY people who work here - at McDermott - are worried about their job.
