The 10 million subscribers that Disney +, the streaming service that the Walt Disney Co. DIS, +5.27% launched on Tuesday, has gathered in just one day is "eye popping" and "considerably higher" than many on Wall Street expected, Dan Ives at Wedbush said in a note Wednesday. "This speaks to the 1-2 punch of success that (Disney Chief Executive Bob) Iger and Disney have coming out of the gate with unmatched content and a massive brand/distribution that makes the House of Mouse a legitimate streaming competitor on Day One" to Netflix Inc. NFLX, -3.26%, Ives said. Disney's goal of having 60 million to 90 million subscribers in five years could be fast-forwarded by two years at this pace, he said. Shares of Disney rallied 4% on Wednesday, and are up 32% this year, which compares with gains around 23% and 19% for the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.08% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average. DJIA, +0.11%

Anybody that signs up with any products of AT&T get what they deserve. Stay away. Stay far, far away. You'll be much happier.

AT&T will force all their mobility customers into a higher priced unlimited plan then offer a free year of HBO Max to their unlimited plan customers. Signing them up automatically then charging them a year later to make stanks metrics look good on randys spreed sheets.

Disney by default is family friendly. HBO max will need a way to segregate a family friendly mode from all the visual c-ap they like to add to every show.

I can guarantee you that if not for Elliot, Randy would be trying to buy CBS. I can imagine that it is k–ling Randy that he can't pull the trigger on that deal, and drive the company further into debt. The man is a total clown.

I guarantee you than when HBO MAX is made available At&t will fudge the subscriber numbers once again as they did with Direct TV NOW.

They've already stated they intend to convert existing HBO Go and Existing AT&T HBO Subscribers over to HBO Max, for precisely that reason - to prop up subscriber numbers.

"We should have bought Disney'. Haha. Can you imagine if the Stank had control over that? He would fire Mickey for low metrics. Donald Duck would just waddle out of contract negotiations after stank eye gave his pep talk.

AT&T is putting all their eggs in a single basket. They wish to compete in a space that they are like a decade late to. Content. I have no doubt we can do the streaming part. (We will screw a few things up, but that is normal). But what is the first thing to go, during an economic downturn? Entertainment of course. But, internet access itself is a necessity in today's world. Leadership should have future proofed At&t with a best in class network with fiber to the home or at least to the node, We are all witnessing the decline of of At&t under this regime. I do believe that the T will be around for a while, but our relevance will continue to diminish, we want to move into a space where we will never be able to compete.

I guarantee you than when HBO MAX is made available At&t will fudge the subscriber numbers once again as they did with Direct TV NOW. Or some ridiculous promotion where we will pay off your student loans if you sign up for 90 days,

At&t will never win the streaming wars. For the billions spent we could have been the superior choice for providing big dumb pipes for tens of millions at 50 or more bucks a month. Sad.

We should have bought Disney.

Also, Disney is loved. I am not sure that we are loved.
