Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Can anyone help me with my age discrimination charge against GM?

Hello everyone!

I was part of the February 4th layoffs. (Over 40 with cancer... long story)

My previous posting has aged a bit so I am starting a new thread. First I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that contacted me with helpful information. I really appreciate it. I can't say thank you enough. My case is going in a positive direction. I have to ask one more favor.

I have received a tip that McKinsey and Company was the source of the original "hit list" of who was going to be fired. However I have not received any 'direct' proof of that.

You are probably already aware but everyone that was laid off at GM got a list from their organization of which job titles with ages were laid off and the same for those that were not laid off. If everyone on this site could send their version to the attorneys, perhaps there is something of value in that information that shows GM wrongdoings. Or perhaps they already have that through discovery process.

You and your lawyers should also look at younger folks that were laid off in February but later rehired. That happened in my group—everyone laid off was over 50 except for one that was under 50. That person was later rehired at GM.

If your attorneys decide on a class action, definitely post it here. A substantial number of folks would happily join in and support with information wherever they can.

Yes go ahead with the lawsuit. I bet you could get hundreds like myself to support you. The Gestopo within GM Management needs to be stopped.

@122YmV8H-5nuj I was let go in February and under 40 years old. Before the November announcement I did see them bring these Brazilian people over and try to integrate them into our groups. It seemed like only a few others and myself questioned why the Brazilian people were brought here...

I was part of that layoff with PPCO Tooling group. Everyone that was layed off in our group was over 50. Also GM relocated Brazilian and Chinese GM people to replace us..
Look into it. Everyone from November that knew it was coming and everyone in February 2019 was over 50...

If you file a lawsuit, you can probably get the information you need through discovery.
