This is a generic discussion thread to capture comments about potential Express Layoffs 2020? Any news or rumors?

During this trying time Express claimed to pay their employees but first had all managers cut the scheduled hours the day before they decided to close. They made sure to pay the least amount possible to the people who keep the stores going.
They are planning on opening any stores not closed by the malls due to statewide closures while stopping the travel of their executives and upper management. If a store opens the local managers are expected to travel to that store. This goes completely hand in hand to the heartless layoffs they planned yet surprised so many of their employees just a few months ago.
Express no longer cares about their people.
Not hearing anything positive in our department.
Yes, they eliminated the Co-manager position and either replaced it with an asm position depending on the volume of the store , or co managers were demoted taking a huge cut. Co -managers were told same day of the lay off.
I hope you are correct. But what from what we are hearing in our department - there could be more layoffs coming!
Response to comment by SOS: The comment about it being a ghost town around here and being steered towards an iceberg are not accurate! I think this is the first time in years that we have a leader who actually gets it. Yes, there were good people who lost their jobs but from what I have heard everyone got severance. I also heard from my manager that there are new positions opening up across the company. Can't comment on the head of Women's because I don't work in that area but the product is starting to look better.
Anyone know if there are more changes coming?
It is a ghost town around here. Some great people were let go. It’s like the Titanic - we now know the iceberg is ahead but who ever made the cuts I’d steering us towards it. The only way we can get out of this mess is to bring somebody in from the outside and remove some heads of departments - Womens!!
It’s on the Express corporate investor page and this evening’s Dispatch as of market close. ~10% of the Columbus and NY office.
Happened today. 80+ people
From the grapevine, the company is offering severance packages to several managers or take a huge pay cut. The company is transitioning the Salaried managers to hourly managers in order to save money and cut costs. They also haven’t been able to hire for certain markets because people know how the environment within the store is, the have started closing a few California stores already
Do we know any details about these cuts?
is this legit
Stand by, a huge reduction in Corporate and Stores is coming in about a week.
