It appears the new CEO got in over her head. They should have checked out Caterpillar before they hired her for CEO position. Caterpillar was raided by the FBI and DOJ for tax fraud. Now she’s restructuring to save the share holders money. Shameful. She has ruined many lives for little profit. If Trinity was managed right there would never have been the need for all these layoffs or firings .How many millions are they paying her.

Jonesboro Plant is still laying off people

Restructuring appears to mean placing people who have no experience or skills in supervisor positions. It's gotten ridiculous at our plant. You have guys who can barely tie their own shows running the place. Sad to see your place of employment be destroyed by people who have no business running a paper route.

The layoffs are true and the call ins are as well in the Jonesboro plant. Hours per day as well as days per week have been reduced, and there has not been any hazardous pay, essential workers pay or any other pay incentives for the workers who remain...lot off ppl notice that a large vast majority of the layoffs were to a “certain ethnic group” of people. It’s been over 60 ppl laid off from both shifts, sad because there is plenty of work and more to come, and the workers left will have to work extra jobs with no additional pay, just to say they have a job instead of receiving unemployment benefits. I don’t know what to think as it’s just difficult not knowing if your next day there is your last day, no heads up or anything, just sad.

Heard that Sunnova is looking to hire solar technicians in New Jersey and California. Just troubleshooting and repair work. Anyone laid off from Trinity should look into it.

They wont really tell employees what's going on but hours continue to be cut. They also keep changing the schedule and making it hard for people to get second jobs to make up lost hours. Going from only working Monday-Thursday then suddenly switching back to Fridays and still only allowed certain hours. Cant get a weekend job for friday and saturday if they keep changing it but dont give anymore hours. They just need to pick a schedule and stick with it so that people who need to get another small job to make ends meat are able to do that.

Trinity is cutting out overtime. Trading quality for production. The workers have no choice and are being forced to cut corners in order to meet the new "businesses plan" of generating more revenue for it's shareholders. The company says it's cares for it's employees, but their actions state otherwise. Poor fit-ups, not preheating, slag welding, unsafe environments, poor safety department, uneducated managers/supervisors/leads who all play favorites... this company is shifting all it's work to Mexico and leaving the American workers searching for other career opportunities. The New NAFTA deal by the Trump Adminstration screwed over the the workers in Longview, Tx and will most likely cause those 5 plants to shut down over the next 6 years. It's all about the Benjamin's I guess

“On November 12, 2019, Trinity Industries, Inc. (“Trinity” or the “Company”) approved a restructuring plan to resize certain resources within the Company, reduce stranded costs, and better align support services with the Company’s strategy. As part of the restructuring program, the Company intends to eliminate approximately 80 positions across multiple locations and functions, including certain corporate and operational support functions located in Dallas, Texas. Position eliminations are expected to be complete within approximately 60 days. Other restructuring actions associated with this plan are expected to be substantially complete within the next year.

“The restructuring is expected to lead to total restructuring charges of approximately $14-18 million, consisting of approximately $3-4 million in cash payments for severance costs and approximately $11-14 million of non-cash charges, primarily from write-downs of assets in the Company’s manufacturing footprint that will be underutilized as the Company executes its rail-focused strategy. The Company expects to incur these restructuring charges in the fourth quarter of 2019. Trinity estimates that this restructuring will generate future annualized cost savings of approximately $8-10 million. As the Company continues to reposition the organization, it is possible that it will engage in additional restructuring activities in 2020, potentially including the disposition of certain assets at amounts in excess of their carrying value.”
