When COVID closures began, we were told we were essential to the FAA IT contract and waited weeks for PPE from CACI. CACI then lost the FAA IT contract ; SAIC is the new IT service provider. SAIC also secured FAA UAS contracts, a training contract for FAA Air Traffic Controllers and IT hardware support contractor Unisys. We had to apply for the jobs we already had. A few weeks ago they told many of us that we were not moving on to the new contract, which began Oct 29, 2020. No idea how many CACI people were laid off, but it was all levels, Helpdesk, Tier 2 and 3 as well as management. CACI offered a bonus, if we stayed until the end of the contract and behaved, then the last few days, reduced the bonus amount, claiming they couldn't afford to pay the total amount they promised. Had to wait for the last check to get the bonus pay and still have to wait for the next check to get our PTO pay.
For whatever reason the inept leadership in the DCSA program ironically refuses to lay people off even though there isn't the work coming in and the work will never come in like it used to. The humane thing would be to layoff anyone in the lower tiers of work rather than lead them on. The VP, Ops Manager, and Program Manager would rather hold All Hands Calls where they laugh instead of being honest.
CACI International just fired 10 people in Augusta GA
