Berkeley Farms was a very profitable company for many years, I know I was there. But the facts short and to the point is, that Berkeley was miss managed for the last 7 to 10 years. Many complained about it, but nothing was ever done. They never really repaired anything they just put a bandage on it. They threw away so much good product either from poor rotation over ordering or just plain errors made like incorrect labels on packages. Where did all of that go to the calf ranch. You are talk up to 25 trailers a month of good product being thrown away.
Will the other dairies be able to handle the load of all of these accounts, it will be very difficult for them. The only positive out of it the Berkeley name will live on since another dairy bought the rights to it. As for Dean Foods, they lied to the employees and not paying any severance to them, now do you think Eric our CEO will get his massive cut, I'm sure he will. All in all Berkeley feed me for years, but when Deans took over that was the start of the end.

Who’s going to pick up the accounts after Berkeley shuts down. Are they running the big accounts from Alta Dena?

Saputo is not interested in Berkeley at all. In fact no one is. Berkeley will close before the end of summer 2020. If DFA didn't want Berkeley, no one will.

Berkeley Farms is the most modern milk plant in California. Odds are a new owner will buy them out and continue business as usual. The competitors have run down outdated facilities and are not equipped to produce the volume they turn out. But folks we need to be honest here, Deans is just another company. Good employees will be successful anywhere they work. Clearly the negative comments are from individuals who have made bad decisions throughout their entire life. Misery loves company. This disgruntled former employee spreading lies is probably personally in financial ruins, possibly lost his retirement due to divorce and ex wife cleaned him out or he still is miserable in his toxic marriage but lost everything when he was terminated. You never know maybe his unhealthy lifestyle caught up to him and he struggles through every day with his illness so all he has is the internet to lash out at the only good thing he ever had and lost. Lol

I agree with Real News. Anybody driving down any highway in Northern California will see numerous Berkeley Farms big rigs and bob tails. Their entire fleet is brand new. The post about them canceling orders on trucks does not make any sense. Also I know Berkeley Farms has cleaned house getting out a lot of bad management and hourly employees, some of which have simply moved on and others haven’t. I feel bad for the guy who has responded to every post making false claim and lying about Berkeley Farms. Obviously you haven’t moved on. But your narcissistic behavior is very unhealthy.

We can see how you keep mentioning our competitors that you are just one of our cast aways that has been forced out of our company and now you work for the competition. Berkeley Farms is not in the red. On the internet anyone can make false claims and lie. Anybody with an interest in Berkeley Farms can separate the Real News from your Fake News. And once again no one except corporate and the judge knows what’s going to happen in the end. You are neither and your statements are entirely false.

Fake News guy posted earlier that Berkeley is in the top 5 performing Deans Dairies. If you think being in the red over 6 million year to date is profitable and puts you in the top 5 then it is no wonder Deans filed for Bankruptcy. Berkeley is in the worst position of the west group. Yes there are many other dairies that can take over the business, Fake News guy may not want to hear it but Producers and Crystal can take over what Berkeley is leaving behind once they close. Fake News guy, have you noticed how quiet its been from corporate lately? They feed the entire company with fake news to get them focused on the holidays. Once we hit Christmas, silence. Wait till after new years and see if the horizon doesn't begin to change. One more thing for Fake News Guy, you claim to not be a manager? Then how do you know what you have stated on your three posts? You've also mentioned several time that you have the truth and can easily look it up, yet you do not provide any proof? If anyone on this site, thread that works for Berkeley or any other Dean's dairy doesn't see what the true endgame is here then I truly feel sorry for you as you are holding on to hope that the company is giving you when their is nothing there.

Lol you are officially Fake News. Wow. You are privy to second hand and third hand information. You are a disgruntled former employee and the only thing you are privy to is speculation and rumors. You are making statements with no facts. If Berkeley Farms ordered 30 bob tails and canceled the order tell us why? You’re making stuff up. You don’t know anything about accounts Berkeley Farms is in negotiations with. You definitely do not know about Berkeley Farms financials. You don’t even appear to know anything. Anybody that does their own research can tell that you are a disgruntled former employee and making things up.

The only account Berkeley has picked up is CVS and Producers walked away from them. Im privy to Berkeley's financials.... and no they are not making money. Model is in a bad spot since they moved the organic to alta dena. Rumors are Crystal is eyeing the Reno market. You make it sound like customers don't have options in California. Sarah Farms is gaining favor with Walmart and Costco and could easily take more away down south. Berkeley ordered 30 bobtails and just cancelled them. If they were growing and everyone wanted to do business with them why would they do that....?

No I am not a member of management. Local management doesn’t even know what’s going on. This is bankruptcy. The only people that know exactly what’s going on is Corporate and the judge. But I do know Fake News from Real News. Berkeley Farms and Alta Dena in California are all one block with Model Dairy in Nevada and Meadow Gold Dairy in Hawaii. California is a key state in milk volume and consumption. Model Dairy has a brand new Organic Processor and Meadow Gold is the only milk processor in Hawaii. You tell me, why would they shut those plants down? California has several other dairy companies that are competition but only 1 of them is actually gaining any ground in the dairy industry but it is still small scale compared to Deans Foods business on the West Coast. So those are facts anyone can research and find out. Where are the facts that these people spreading lies have? To me it appears that 2 or 3 former disgruntled employees who know nothing about Deans Foods current business status are on here trying to spread Fake News. You can tell when someone actually has facts or when they’re just making stuff up.

So then you are a manager at Berkeley and can verify that everyone else on here is making things up? Please do share.

Lol you all really have jokes. More Fake News from you guys. This is to the poster that mentioned ICE, the Berkeley Farms workforce is by far predominantly white, it always has been, but the hispanics and anyone else in there are American. Berkeley Farms is not some under the table establishment. Anyone can research that. So once again stop it with your lies. Why would a manager get on here and say what I’m saying. I’m telling you the real news from the inside that anyone can research and see. Since bankruptcy was declared Berkeley Farms has not lost one customer or employee. We have actually gained an account. The only hiccup we initially had was changing one of our suppliers of one of our ingredients. I can tell you without a doubt that you other posters with the Fake News do not know a single thing about Berkeley Farms status. You are not an insider, you are not management, you are not an hourly employee, and I would go as far as to say you are not even a union member anymore at Berkeley Farms or elsewhere because nobody with any affiliation to Berkeley Farms would say what you’re saying. There’s no truth to it. You’re just a disgruntled former employee who was terminated. Keep spreading your lies if that makes you feel better about not being with us anymore.

ICE raid would clean up and close Berkeley and any Cali plant real quick. And you can take that to the BANK!!!’

I see that the below post @Stop It, is spreading the fake news gospel that corporate is telling everyone how everything is going to be ok! What ever helps you sleep at night!

Post ID: @wkd+12IWRt1W

Lol the Fake News is unbelievable on this site. Berkeley Farms is one of Dean Foods top 5 performers in the country. Nothing in the entire state of California will close. The only plants that could potentially close are the troublesome plants and plants in troublesome areas. California is the biggest dairy state in the country with the most volume and consumption. These negative posts are coming from under performing employees who have obviously been fired so now they’re spreading lies. We all have to wait and see what happens after bankruptcy, but contrary to the Fake News Berkeley Farms would be one of the last plants they would close.

I also agree with the previous posts. Berkeley will close due to low volume and being unprofitable.

Post ID: @ewu+12IWRt1W

I haven't heard anything about the city of Hayward wanting the plant gone. You'd think they'd be thankful for the jobs.

Post ID: @xoz+12IWRt1W

Would Dean replace Berkeley Farms with Alta Dena or start white labeling from another company or could they try to sell?

by
|
Post ID: @ofl+12IWRt1W

I agree Berkeley will go. So little volume for a plant that big. City wants them gone too. I disagree with Alta Dena though. I think south would stay open over north. Dean's had already played around with that. North's cooler loadout issues would sink then if they added that much more volume.

by
|
Post ID: @ixf+12IWRt1W

Why would North stay open and South shut down?

by
|
Post ID: @srx+12IWRt1W

why do you think Berkeley will be one of the first to go?

by
|
Post ID: @iis+12IWRt1W

The Berkeley Farms plant will be one of the first Deans Dairies to close. Due to it's continuing poor performance year after year, they will all lose their jobs. On the other end, one of the Alta Dena plants will stay open possibly North. South will be closed at a later date.
