my manager asked me to put together a list of people including Hire Date, Length of Service, Age, T-Level, Region, Country, Line of business, CC, and Total Comp. He told me its confidential and to only to send it to him. i have been in HR for 10 years this is a RIF (reduction in force) list.

2020 layoff's have started and this time it is being done quietly. Palo Alto CX team let go few senior colleagues last week - all 10+ years at SAP and 45+ age.
In my market unit( apj ), Two consultants from callidus moved to dbs as part of merger last year and one consultant is asked leave with 2 months package.
So your manager asked to put together a layoff list that included age. Age discrimination is illegal in the US. You might as well add race, s-x, and religion to the list as well if they are discriminating against age.
