Seems pretty quiet around here. No changes. No new announcements. No layoffs. What gives?

As long as the management is not purged (moobs, flashlight , Michael Jordan and the like we can hire plenty of arrogant developers from anywhere the problem remain. It was established very early on that the company was mismanaged. This is about management not employees like some posters from Austin speak about.
Btw those storm (yeah a pun) of posting clearly coming from the management that now reallfeel threatened is now countering real information with mis-information... moobs must have hired a PR agency...
It’s happening, whether you believe it or not. Have you asked why 50+ software engineers just got approved for hire in the US? Do you really think the company is taking on extra cost? No, it’s because they have to fire 500 offshore developers to offset the cost.
BS this rumor about shutting down Bangalore and Mougins has been going on ever since rezi soin off. What happened is that they shipped us their people and they are now in Austin ... guess what they will hire? The same than them. Exactly like moobs brought in gamers, rsi flashlight staffed up with arrogant kids, etc... Austin is not the city to start a Corp center when the global power of honeywell is gone.... rezi should stop thinking they are a startup they are not.
3ieb - Moobs and the moobsters have been trying to do this since he got here. There is a concerted effort to get as much out of India and get out of whats left in Europe. This is and has been a planned push with him. He is trying to do this as quietly as possible and trying not to raise any red flags. Things like, Give "key people" in those regions large raises or promotion to keep them happy and distracted while things slowly and quietly go to Austin. This is only to keep things quiet as knowledge transfers take place without them knowing.
If I were a developer in those regions I would get out fast and not fall for their BS. Cuts will continue a little at a time until its all out of there. Don't let it happen. Do the needful and keep your eyes open.
Hearing every offshore development site and most manufacturing plants will be closed within 2 years.

As you misquote “Lest fire everybody” show that this post struck a cord... let be clear the issues with some of those directors are KNOWN... their peers and the people below recognize them. They are bad apples that corrupt the whole basket. Those individuals need to go. Don’t be afraid... Austin or the city is full of startups you can corrupt...

2lwa... thank you for posting the most honest and reasonable response to date on this site. I'm not a long tenured HW person, but can completely understand your sentiment. I'm also not an HR troll, not from Austin, and not "one of them". I'm just an individual who makes the most of every opportunity. I'm hopeful we will get through this rocky start.

For every other response, that clearly comes from foreign lands because the english is so poor, you should move on. Offshore development will probably go away soon.
It’s very simple : until the current management of the middle layer (directors and above VPs) are replaced, recovery is not possible. This is not just about the president.
There was a problem of strategic direction with resi and this is slowly being addressed.
The problem are all those directors that frankly can’t execute, blame others, constantly socializing to try to get a promo and overall are simply not good people. They are KNOWN. They are located in Austin, Rolle and Melville. Until they are gone the bad apples corrupt the whole basket.
I really liked the change of direction where it’s no longer the older employees that get asked Why do you stay but that layer of directors that keep moving from project to project and only deliver wind that get asked also why
1rlp - I appreciate your question, I really do. Why do many of us stay and complain rather than go find another job in a strong economy? I can't speak for everyone, but I know my sentiments are shared by many of my fellow employees. Many have us have been here for years and committed our professional lives to Ademco, Honeywell and now Resideo, and are hurt by the fact that the company has lacked leadership for the past 10 years. I don't know what your role is or how long you have been with the business, but if you have been here as long as many of us you understand that it's not easy to jump ship and leave your "family". Our hope is that somebody in a senior role, like maybe the COB, would realize that the success that this business has had historically came from strong leadership that people would follow. I think that we all want a little bit of that blind enthusiasm that you have and really support the company and the mission, it's tough to support a mission that is not clearly communicated or is delivered by people that have not taken the time to truly understand our business and get to really know some of our customers.
We don't want to live in the past, but we can hope that people in roles that ultimately drive this business will look at the history of this company and take some of the positives to bring forward. If you are in a leadership role, please deliver this message.
I actually don't have to stay. I stay for the Entertainment Value. Its like why people go to watch Car racing. Not for the racing ...for the spectacular accidents. Why people watch boxing...not for the art of the fight but for someone to get knock TF out. Why people are enthralled with watching the news....its the train wrecks and tragedy not so much the weather and sports!
Hearing moobs is less and less visible (inspite of the huge Moobs). Maybe going with Don Cazzo to go wreck their next company perhaps? May be realizing he ran out of BS to throw around and time is running out.
With an Ex Hon person in charge now they will actually have to deliver and talking a great game inst enough. Plus the board is no being cleaned up of gamers I think he needs to aim those flip flops towards the door and burn come calories....

1frm - Resi and even HW Security was never a company that empowered its employees to challenge leadership to make it better. Managers and above would beat down any good ideas employees had for change. Innovation to them was putting more lipstick on last years pig and seeing if anyone would notice.

You also list out companies people have actually heard of. Too big to fail type companies. We are a nothing that no one has ever heard of competing with Google and Amazon. So that statement is BS too.
As for who is marketable and not.....who knows and who cares. That may be the case or it could just be the fact people see the company they care about crashing fast.
Haha... I’m not an Austin-lite and it’s funny to read these “end is near” posts. There’s definitely some truth to the company being in bad shape but we all have seen worse (AIG, Lehmann brothers, blockbuster, list goes on). The funnier thing to me though is people who cry, complain, and whine on this site but still stay with the company. Those people are either unmarketable (working at Honeywell for 20+ years) or are trying to convince droves of people to leave so they can save their own job. Instead of whining, why not make an effort to fix things that you can control. If you don’t want to fix it, find another job so you can be happier.

7) products on the drawing board for years...still not anywhere near ready to release
8) raodmap - non-existant
9) dropping revenue
10) customer base dropping - confirmed this will get worse at latest "event"
11) hire companies like BCG to do assessments of where to cut.
On the upside
1) we reaased Buoy and they are flying off the shelves...oh wait, we still cant get them to works.
2) QS is ready to go, we even demoed to customers.....oh wait we are starting over with people who dont know anything about what it does for the security business.
3) Storm was released. they start shipping soon....oh wait we only have a demo retro piece of garbage no one would ever buy.
4) Limina is ready for all products.....lol
5) we fixed those registration issues and they arent happening with new products either....oh...wait.
6) we fixed those pesky outages we have been having for 7 years.....oh wait we only hide them now.
7) Titan platform is a go....go where no one knows...
Let’s not forget the other “made up” drama where the CFO got fired for cooking the books the the CEO stepping down shortly after.
Let’s get back to facts: Doom has happened. With stock plunging and lawsuits and no real delivery. How worse can it get? Well hell is deep. We haven’t reached bottom.

udd - Made up like our product release schedule, project statuses and financial health..like that made up?
I beleive someone said BCG meetings to submit recommended cuts and org meetings here in HQ followed by the cuts.
BTW, they have started. they are doing them here and there to go under radar. I know of two cuts sine first of year in my area alone.
