Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

Layoffs in GE Aviation Czech ?

It seems that there is a restructuring / layoff effort currently on going in GE Aviation Czech s.r.o. in Prague, Czech Republic.
The layoffs may represent approx 10 percent of the workforce in Letnany plant, as a result of changes in the market conditions for small turboprops (?).
I'm wondering if GE is offering the affected employees severance packages or other wages and medical benefits, outplacement services, or if GE is eventually working at relocating some of the employees to other facilities in Europe / elsewhere ...

Not only US... the voluntary job elimination program is being applied also to GE Aviation Czech. Employees will receive a severance package if their request to leave voluntary the Company will be approved. This is a consequence of COVID19 and is aligned with the Company's objective to reduce costs and improve efficiency being pursued since the beginning of the year. This new effort may further delay the Catalyst turboprop development program for the Cessna Denali.

I don't know about Czechoslovakia, but chances are high of layoffs in the U.S. in early April.

Interestingly, on February last year, during a press conference celebrating the establishment of a new collaborative agreement between GE Aviation and the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT), it was reinstated how American companies like GE Aviation are "here to stay" in the Czech Republic.
