What if you just got hired less than a year ago? Do you get severance?

I believe they have a minimum for severance, but not sure. I know someone who was there a short time (maybe less than a year) in Denver, and is gone end of year.
Yup. I know someone who was only there just over 2 years. Moved across the country for that job. Now he’s scrambling to find a job to pay his huge mortgage and college tuition for his two kids. He’s probably going to have to sell his house because jobs at his senior level are few. Economy is not what it once was and companies don’t have to pay the ridiculously high salaries they once did to recruit talent. There are so many people out there that can do the job for less. Oh, and yeah, he’s well over 50, so his best earning days are behind him. It appears he did not save a penny for a rainy day like this, he and his wife are big spenders, fancy cars, vacations to expensive places and just overall your typical American sheep who spend beyond their means. Oh well. Live and learn.
The less years you worked there, the less severance.
The severance is based on how long you were a slave there.
