Thread regarding Apple Inc. layoffs

Useless Intel Modem Hires

These old hires are gonna bring down the ship for the whole wireless division. Their incompetence is the reason behind Q's dominance.

They helped sink Infineon, Intel modems division and they are now taken on by Apple.

No use arguing with the icdg guys.
Now you know why their CEO sold them off at a lowball rate.
Look up buyers remorse.

I think that‘s because by 4pm, people are done with their work. Germans are not lazy. Germans are efficient. But of course, to someone who needs to work 16 hours to do the work a German does in 8, it looks like laziness when Germans go home at 4pm.

The less efficient people are, the more angry they get about that.

And of course, it will be a major source of friction when the guys in Cupertino put in their usual 100 hrs/week during crunch time, when management once again makes the teams suffer for their bad product planning. But hey, we‘ll get a shout out from Tim at the next iPhone presentation, so it‘s all worth it!

The situation in the former iCDG department is ridiculous, especially in Germany. They cannot fire people because of the workers council and the german law and this is the reason why there are people who work 5 minutes per day. The rest of the day drink coffee, gossip with the colleagues and try to convince the higher management that they work so hard. Just take a walk at the office at 16:00 and you will see who works and doesn't.

Even most Q guys I know are aware of the fact that their market position has nothing to do with their technical skills.

Q entered a virtuous cycle of patent revenue invested in early innovation invested in patents resulting in patent revenue a long long time time ago, and they are still feeding off of that, and this cycle was started by people who are not even working at Q anymore. Even the most competent competitors can't break into that, unless they can conjure 20,000 golden patents out of thin air.

Either you have no clue about the modem business, or you are a Qualtroll. Perhaps both.

Everyone who has at least a basic knowledge of the modem business knows why Qualcomm dominates the industry. Intel‘s supposed incompetence is not a factor there.
