GM hadn't been stable in a very long time, I am very surprised that anyone young coming out of school would even entertain working for this company.
If I was a youngster living with the folks, I would be connecting on LinkedIn as much as possible and looking hard for opportunities all over the globe for a career path. We all know there is no guarantees with anything in life, it's a c-ap shoot but how to minimize the risk is the game.
Point is GM is to risky to work for and I would go to a better company if possible, whatever that means. God bless all of you, Merry Christmas and hold your head high!
2018-19 has been a brutal year for many and I pray that it will get better for all of us.

What age are they, 50s 60s ?
A couple of my friends that worked at a GM supplier were laid off today. Not sure if it’s a trickle down or if they’re just cleaning house. Guess what age they are? I don’t need to tell you. Merry Christmas to them. Very sad.
GMs’ Christmas gifts, are the annual gifts that keep on giving. All too well aware.
Anyone that works for that company should always have six to twelve months in wages secured. Call it your unemployment fund, as its highly probable you will eventually need it at some point. Sometimes, multiple times.
