Directors and above are once again promoting their friends to Managers and in order to justify the promotion, they put direct reports under them. It's all political and in no way contributes to the productivity of the company, since these managers know nothing about what their direct reports do. Didn't the company go through before, where there was an over-abundance of middle managers and directors. HR really needs to look into this.
